The final 18.7 seconds of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on May 7, 1995. Pacers star Reggie Miller scored eight points in 8.9 seconds to lift Indiana to an improbable 107-105 win. Immediately following the conclusion of the game, Miller spoke with NBC's Dan Hicks.

a combination of clutch and choke. The Knicks also blew it by passing it right to Reggie, Starks misses 2 free throws, then Ewing misses a point blank shot and they foul Reggie on the rebound, then Greg Anthony slips and falls on last possession. I remember watching this live as a Knicks fan. What a disaster. 🤦‍♂️

What's always overlooked is not that Reg hit those 3's, but stole the ball, had a clutch rebound in the paint amongst the bigs, hit 2 clutch free throws and shut Anthony down in a full court press. Miller literally did everything to win this game for Indy!

Look at his career wins shares; I believe it's right on par with Kobe's. Reggie is underrated and was pretty ahead of his time. If he shot threes like players do now (like 10 a game) and offense was favored like it is in today's game, Reggie's PPG would be higher for sure. Can't just look at raw stats. Look at how efficient the guy was.

Career 174.4 win shares. That puts him at 18th all time, ahead of Kobe Bryant. There are many hall of famers who only accumulate like 100 or so, some even less. Like I said, he didn't shoot as many threes as players do in today's league, because analytics weren't the way they are now and the game is evolved. Plus, wasn't he the all time leader in three pointers made until Ray Allen broke his record? How would he not be a hall of famer? He literally led the league all time in one of the most important statistics in the game.

Reggie understood how to control the pace of the game with or without the ball. He was hated for being so far ahead of his time getting to the free throw line and into his opponent's head under pressure. He always looked like the innocent one. The thing i remember about him is he was always, ALWAYS moving without the ball! Stephen Curry was great coming out of college, great with Mark Jackson (who made him the sgar he is, along with the team), but it wasn't until Kerr made him live without the ball: that is when he became an MVP all time great. That aslo made Klay free to explode. They were great with Durant but he did not understand fully the power of being off ball.

@Thomas Maloney First of all counting the champion roster doesn't prove anything i'm pretty sure you weren'T even born when new york got the title secondly if you really think that championship is a success let me remind you in the early 70's nba had only 14 teams and most of them had echonomic problems and not had enough quality to be a nba team so i think if you want to talk about success then i suggest you to talk about 99 finals that's an example of success cause you beat all the toughest teams in the east and reached the finals and if you could beat the sas you would have the nba trophy IN A REAL NBA that would have been a story of success but besides that you dont have any success in the playoffs in almost 20 years and the only trophy you got is Porzingiz's skill challenge

I remember this game like yesterday. I figured it was over so I muted the tv and turned the radio up but was still watching, and in just a few seconds the tv volume went back up and the stereo went to mute. I couldn’t believe what just happened. Legendary

I used to always say "I hate Reggie Miller" because of this game and interview. But I always respected him too. What an amazingly clutch performance especially that 4th qtr. He called out Knicks players, and talked trash to Spike the entire time. I'll never forget it. 14/15 from the line.

I remember watching Reggie and Cheryl playing against each other on the school courts in Riverside during our baseball game. I was told who they were. Didn't know much about them at the time.

Before I knew Miller went to school there I used to play ball there in the mid 90’s with my friend Lamar and his girlfriend-gage middle school I believe.
