Dad, and Daughter of the year!!!!!!!!!!! Dads are great, at 69 years old I have so many regrets that I was never able to become one. Anyway I've watching many of your videos further down the PCT, and finally am here to see your wonderful start. I just love the respect you give to all critters big and small. That poor little Bee made a big mistake not staying with you on your hike. So hike on, I've already see you finish, you are such an awesome young lady.

The chaparral is beautiful right now with the ceanothus, chamise, and sages blooming, not to mention the wildflowers. You should see the cacti blooming in April down below as well.

What brought me here was my research on the "Vancouver island spine trail" - I spotted Pacific Crest Trail in your title in the selection of videos presented by youtube and thought 'what is Pacific Crest trail? haven't heard of it' Now I know. We camped at the exact same spot on night 1. I was where the orange tent was. lol

Pretty much never really alone on the PCT, but tickled your dad is hiking with you for a while... Appears to be a bit windy out there on day two... Lake Morena and hopefully the Malt shop... Your snake friend appeared to be a Rubber Boa (real name)... Snow, slowly melting but still plenty on Mt Jacinto and in the Sierras... Day 7 and in Julian for a resupply and Nero. SAFE HIKING

Ahh my son started around the same time you. His friend that was supposed to hike with him left him behind. He is in Julian today (April 21st) resupplying. I was amazed that your channel came up on my feed. I sure hope he runs into some nice ppl like you seem to be (the part where you helped the bee was so adorable and kind). So if you see a tall blond 20 something guy by him self ask him if his name is James and tell him his mom said hi (omg that would be tooo funny) Good luck ..im going to follow you :)

Your foot was still in the USA as the border fence is setback from the actual boarder by quite a bit. Good luck.

I would be scared seeing rattlesnakes. I presume you get used to it and watch out accordingly. Wish you best luck on your thru hike of the PCT!
