This is a awesome video hopefully if no little nasties stop us my partner and I are saling on the Pacific Encounter on 6th September 2022 my partner has cruised before it's my first time, we a going up to the Whitsundays and return I am feeling a little scared because I won't know where I am going on the ship lots of things to see visit hopefully this will outweigh my shyness and my little phobia hope I return and say yes I want to go again a bit longer please post up some videos for people like myself who have never cruised to help break the ice and makes feel happy to want to go back again and again cheers and thank you once again.

Hi Phil. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. Firstly we hope you have an absolutely fantastic cruise and that you come back wanting more. The beauty about cruising is that you can do as much or as little as you like and join in or not as much as you like. You can have meals with a group of total strangers or just on your own. We find that the general mood of cruise passengers is that they want to chat and want to pass time with other cruisers. Hope you find some of those people. Now, finding your way around on the ship, the hardest part is working out which way you're facing - front or back. Once you get that figured out the rest is pretty easy. After 20 odd cruises I (Rob) still look out of the windows to see which way the ship is going to know which way I'm facing. I'm sure your partner is aware of this but our tip for new cruisers is to get the daily schedule and go through it marking off what you want to do for the day then you won't miss out on anything. You've also given us some ideas about some videos that we can do on the next cruise specifically aimed at first timers. I don't think we have enough related footage from the Coral Princess to do that but we'll check. In the meantime though have a fantastic cruise and we hope there a no nasties at the last minute to disrupt things.

@@robandalicruisetravel Thank you so kindly for such a beautiful reply you have settled the butterflies down a fair bit now I really want to explore the ship first couple of hours a best friend and his partner met on a cruise have told me make sure you are up the front when she makes the big and heads up the coast I was booked and paid to go on the Sapphire Princess sister of Ruby Princess back in 2020 that has been in the news when Covid was hitting us I was to sail ex Fremantle and arrive Brisbane 14 nights away this was before I met my partner I was so thrilled excited I even had a happy cry to myself something I have never done in my life so I am hoping this cruise will be a very happy one for us both. Are you both in cruising forums a friend and his partner are his name is Glen and her name is Issy they met at the safety muster speech pre departure nearly 3 years ago I am hoping this cruise will make our relationship stronger and stronger cheers for now take care you both stay safe happy and healthy. Phil.

Hi Phil. Thanks for the reply. We have found cruising to be one of the most friendliest holidays you can do. You meet someone at day 1, whether it be muster, dinner or just in the lift, and they will be either 'ships that pass in the night' or lifelong friends. Either way for the duration of the voyage you will always have some one to talk to when you you bump into them them. I know that all sounds a bit 'mushy' but it's one of the highlights of cruising - meeting new people. Even the ones that you may not want to continue after the cruise just go to make memories. Stay safe and enjoy your cruising and new friends.

Hi Mark. Thanks for dropping by and for leaving a comment. It is exciting but to be honest the new cruise terminal isn't a patch on the old one. The problem is that ships are getting bigger and bigger and just can't fit under the bridges any more. We hope they develop the new area like they did the old one and put on some transport or it will put people off the Brisbane port of call on incoming cruises. We will see. Take care and thanks again for watching.

We have subscribed to your channel and hope you have success. I see that you had some trips on the Pacific Dawn. This was one of our favourite ships and we loved it so much. so happy to see that it didn't get scrapped but sold to the Ambassador Line in the UK. Check out their videos on it as a lot of the things are still the same. Good luck with the channel mate.

Hi Lisa. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. All round Australia sounds like a great trip and on a beautiful ship like the Coral it should be a holiday to remember for sure. At the moment there are only 3 realistic ways to get into Brisbane from the port. First is a public bus but that takes about 1 hour and 40 mins so would eat a big chunk of your day. Second is taxi or Rideshare e.g. Uber, which, according to the Uber price estimator is around $35-$40 each way and takes between 15 and 20 minutes. For 3 of you this is probably the most economic option and certainly a lot quicker than the bus. The third is if Princess are putting on a shuttle bus from the port to the City, which we believe they have been doing. Not sure of the cost but we are hearing around $25 per person. This would probably be the most expensive way to do it but the safest in terms of not missing the ship, if that's a concern to you. On to things to do. We hope to have our things to do in Brisbane video up by then but just in case, Southbank will definitely be featured as there is lots to do in and around there - artificial beach lagoon, museums, big wheel, kayaking, rock climbing, restaurants, live music (depending on what day you are here), eScooters and bikes and the like. If you let us know what kind of activities you are interested in - relaxing, cultural, adventurous, restaurants etc. then we will certainly give you more specific ideas for you to consider. Thanks again

Hi Fiona. Sorry for the long delay in replying. Hopefully this gets to you before the cruise. Where you see the concrete behind us by the water is about the closest you can get. There is a large open grassed area outside the terminal, it's a lovely area, just that there are no facilities there. Great place to watch the ship coming in and leaving though. You won't be able to miss it when you get there. Have a fantastic cruise in just a few days time now.

Hi Ian. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. We were looking at sitting on some of the recliners but they were all taken. Interesting to see how many people went out there yesterday to see the Encounter. If you see us again come over and say Hi, one lady did and we had a lovely chat. Can't wait to get on board in a few weeks. Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it.

He'll there Rob and Ali remember me I did my virgin cruise on the Pacific Encounter on 6th to the 10th September 2022 all I can say is 2 words Totally Awesome our friends got us in the Byron Beach Club membership so we had great views looking out the front of the ship this was Magic totally enjoyed this had a few drinks 🍸 saw Blanc de Blanc and a Jodie Mitchell tribute they were great, the food was superb no complaints there went to Dragon Lady, Angelio's and The Watermark well as they say I came I enjoyed I conquered a little bit of good news yes I have 3 4 night cruises coming up from 19/10/22 Sydney to Eden departing Sydney by myself, 13/12/22 my son and I going to Hobart, Port Arthur, Sydney departing Sydney 13/2/23 departing Melbourne going to Kangaroo Island and return to Melbourne with my partner a Valentines 💝 day treat for her. After these I will lift my mark up up and looking going with Royal Caribbean or Princess I think I can honestly say yes I am totally hooked on these cruises till next time keep up the great work with your channel. Phil.

Hi Phil. Sorry for the delay, we have been out of contact for most of the time whilst we were on the Encounter. Unfortunately we did not have the Byrom Beach Club membership but it looked pretty swanky. Might be worth a look next time. We also saw Bland de Blanc. To be honest it wasn't quite to our taste but there were plenty of people who were enjoying it. Would have loved to have seen the Joni Mitchell tribute, who did that? There were a couple called Big Man and Bear on our cruise who did a Simon and Garfunkel set and a Fleetwood Mac set. They were really good. Angelos and Dragon Lady were fantastic (went there twice). Our only observation about them was the lack of choice for plant based options. There were some in different courses but they didn't seem to follow through. For example, you could get a plant based entree and main but not a dessert. Anyway, we're the kind of people who look for possitives and what we did have was superb. We will be on Royal Caribbean for New Year and this will be a first time on their ships for us. The Quantum looks magnificent and the facilities are unbelievable - a robot bar and bumper cars!!! Can't wait to try that out. Enjoy your upcoming cruises and we may even see you aboard one day. Cruising is the sort of thing that you either hate or you love and just keep on doing. Take Care.
