Thanks for the tip about the education portion! It's like 699$ CAD before taxes to get open water certified here and that can be a barrier! (but also learning about some of those things like rupturing your lungs DOES make me want to get proper training to do this safely. I am looking at becoming a liveaboard sailor and scuba diving (shallow dives) are somewhat essential skills for under the waterline boat repairs. Thanks I will keep looking into things

@@WaterlineShorts Paul. A wee request is a short clip on entry and exit procedures for both scuba and snorkel diving. Walking in from the beach, boat entry and jumping from a height. Many people overlook these basics. Lots of explanations on clearing masks but not a lot about entry-exit or for that matter underwater navigation.

Run the inside with toothpaste. That will wipe away the residue from manufacturing. You will still need fog drops or spur spit every dive.

Any tips for people with the fear of open water? I want to take up diving, I've always wanted to do it but even more so because I'm so scared of it. but the idea alone makes me light headed and short of breath, watching this made me a little dizzy with anxiety. So are there any tips on how to overcome this?

Is the free theory still legit? Ie. Will it be accepted at all dive centres as sufficient to do your pool dives and open water dives? I was thinking of doing my pool training and open water abroad (I’m in the UK) and wouldn’t want to travel there without proper certification etc

@@scubabro9471 You're told to never stop breathing, but it's not as extreme as it sounds. You use your lungs for buoyancy too. So if you want to ascend, for example, you take a deeper breath. That's how we are able to ascend/descend without moving our arms or legs.

He's just getting creative with words. Smooth talker. Learning to SCUBA is not difficult but, it's not for everyone. First...can you swim? You'd be surprised at how many want to learn but can't swim. This video, long on rhetoric and short on specifics.

Not really sure what you mean. I didn't offer a comparison. The comment above is suggesting that in a five minute video I've left out specifics. They insult me "smooth talker", "rhetoric". I could have just deleted the comment but I decided to leave it and challenge the commentator. I am in fact trying my best to be helpful to those who want help. If you read comments on my videos you will see that I leave very specific comments when people ask. The above was just a jab at me so gave back. Disregard the info but all means. It's free to anyone who cares to watch.

"Mask Clearing is a skill you will use on every Dive" Well I guess it could be if your mask does not fit you correctly, I guess I was lucky to have an Instructor who took the time to explaine how to find a Mask that fits and seals right, then when I asked he spent the 45min it took to help me find and test Masks and there seals until I found one that I not only loved the design but that also correctly sealed to my face... I rarely ever had Mask leaks witb that mask or any other that I have bought and tested since and I have been diving since 1994 so been thriugh a lot of Masks as well... Lol
