Күн бұрынWhen the first Pagani Huayra made its appearance at a meet for Pagani owners, evo's Harry Metcalfe was there to take a ride.
The new Pagani Huayra is one of the most eagerly awaited supercars with the promise of 720bhp from its mid-mounted 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine - enough power to blast it to an estimated 235mph top speed.
Our man Harry Metcalfe got a chance to see the Huayra up close at an event for Pagani owners in Sardinia - there are some advantages to having a Zonda in the garage.

Love the sound of the straight cut gearbox, also the whole exposed gear linkage is amazing. Such a cool car!

This is one of those cars that I would not be able to stop smiling the whole time I am driving. The only problem I find with this car is eventually I would have to stop to sleep.

For those who do not know, the driver in this video is the FOUNDER of Pagani Automobili S.p.A; Horacio Pagani... This is the man that made everything happen, thumbs up so everybody can see

An absolutely amazing car and amazing man. I never thought they could make a car as beautiful as the Zonda's and yet here it is. I bought his book and his story is such a triumph of vision and determination. Thank you Mr. Pagani

OMG, as a turbo car owner the sound and the instant wave of boost is amazing. I LOVE the sound of this car, and I would boost just to hear her scream and blow-off. Can you imagine this thing with an intake and exhaust?! Talk about ridiculous!

The zonda R was the ultimate end to the zonda era and had by far the best sound of the range. Now the block has been turbocharged and allready this soundtrack is just stunning... The puddle of drool will be enormous when they make it even more wild and raw in the upcoming models...

Just visisted Pagani last week in Castel Franco, and i must say that this car is a masterpiece. The design i real life i abselutely spot on. The Zonda is great aswell, but this car is just at a different level.

Anybody who says that this car sounds bad, or at least worse than the "regular" Zonda need to check their hearing, this sound is other worldly! Dear god! Now don't think I'm hating on the Zonda, I LOVE a car that sing and roars like the Zonda, but the Huayra is just on another level! You can't compare them - they are both just amazing!

I loved the Zonda and was rather skeptical of the Huayra when it was introduced, but especially after watching this, it's hard to describe the awesomeness... Well done Mr. Pagani!

I can live without the sound of the engine but MY GOD what an amazingly beautiful and stunning car. Horacio himself has stated the Huayra is technically the successor to the zonda, but in reality it's a completely different car. It's not exactly a softer car, but it isn't as extreme as the zonda.

Do you even know WHO he is? Without him you will never be driving a Pagani, wether your English is fenomenal or not. Have some respect for this man, because he makes one of the best cars in the world, seriously he is one of the few people that actually makes his dream come true, and I will forgive his lack of English knowledge since he made the best automotive masterpiece since the beginning of the car.

Agreed! These cars are designed to show Ferrari they can be beaten. The interior and exterior is so beautiful they beat any other car in terms of looks, the fact they use AMG engines just means they aren't all mouth no trousers, these cars go as fast as they look.

If you read the description, it says the squeaking sound is due to the clamshell of the car not closed properly. I've watched tons of other videos of the Huayra and not one of them has a squeaking sound. Why would this car be a disgrace?

I like it a lot - iv´e been looking at pictures of it for a while to figure what they have done. And i think this will grow a lot over time, its both very classic and modern and have more compactness that shows in many of the new Supersportscars like the 458 and the recent Porsche Concept. And i like the "Turbosound" - it´s different like a mix of Buggatti and a jet - and i think for this segment, being different is really important.

I just saw this car next to the Zonda R and Mr Horacio Pagani (the old driver...lol) and I must say, WOW! The Huayra is spectacular! The Huayra only sounds better inside because of the turbos. :)

Best wastegate/valve noise i've heard for a long time. Turbos sound quite small too so plenty of room left for enormous lag+power

@Jeccidah It has the paddles but its a sequential gearbox. Ive never heard of having both of those together. Sequential does seem cool. Jay Leno said he would do a video once his C6RS had a sequential gearbox, still waiting to see that.
