I have taken drum lessons with many well known touring pros. This was as good or better in the way that you succinctly explained the rhythms. The best drum teacher I ever had said that if you can hear it you can play it and you also touched on that concept nicely.

Im the same.. left handed and right footed but i play conventional as you do and i lead beats 1 and 3 with my left foot...weird...nice job on the video.. thats my party/beginning of solo piece..Love Priest..

Hey, I just had my first encounter with a real drum set, I've been playing rock band drums for about 5-6 years and finally got to play real ones, I didn't want to get up, I'm decent for a beginner and I might get my own drum set this year, I already know what my first solo will be, thanks

Absolutely superb explanation. Do a couple songs from Revis and I'll buy the whole package! Maybe "Caught In The Rain" or "Seven"? (And yes I know most people think they suck or never heard of them, but I happen to like them, and I think they make great practice material for a beginner-to-intermediate level...)

I do first you have to count it. Find the time signatures. Then slow it down on Windows media to learn it. There are a few parts to know.

Here's the thing the opening drums are not the hardest part. It's holding down the six in the middle to match the guitars. It's the speed of that listen to it for yourself. By the way great tutorial you do know what you're doing. I'm also a drum teacher thanks bye

Playing slow, or at a comfortable speed is the key. And no matter how much it will take you, you will feel more comfortable as time passes. How long have you been drumming?

xReck 53 8 years, but I just recently got into double bass ( yeah I know painkiller is probably not the easiest song to begin with double bass)

Use a metronome and play around 70 - 80 bpmb to start or less if that's not comfortable. I am nearly one year drummer and I can play double bass at 110 bpm with the heel down technique which isn't prefered by most drummers for double bass and metal. @Don Taylor That's not even close to the speed of the bass, its slightly under half the speed, other than the slow parts, which it's pretty close. Either way, I'm pretty sure the OP was being sarcastic.
