I did a pretty extensive build with my w7 as well. Inlays and a similar texture. Turned out almost as good as yours!! I am very proud of it.

I've just used truck bed liner. It comes out really nice, durable and seals up any air leaks. If it's going to be in the trunk, the wife and kids will throw things at it. I've gotten subs punctured because they don't care. I also have to make it easily moveable if I have to make more room.

Simply amazing - I hope to do something like this some day. For now my crap MDF box will remain ratchet strapped to the back seat with my amp screwed directly to the sub box. Haha, it works...

I have the old version of the 12W7. It's a beast. I've had it since 2006. I did one surround replacement.

I had you design a box enclosure for me a while back, dude this box is badass!! She's 250 lbs without the subs. Coated in Herculiner. Box is always a head turner.

I'm not a huge fan of the paint, but this enclosure is sweet! That custom emblem you made is a nice touch. Earlier in the build i thought it would be a bit too much, but it is definitely not. Besides, it is YOUR build, not mine! 😊

Fantastic looking box. imo, W7s are just not efficient subs in the first place. Pick up a B&C 18" and you'll be able to load it in the same size box with a flat response and you'll have 9dB more output with the same power.

Such a beautiful speaker. Box looks great. I am working on pouring resin on a sub box that is going to be hit by the elements. Only running an Alpine R-W10D4 with a Kicker KMA600.1.

When using heavy woofers I like using t nuts and machine screws... MDF can strip out easy...

I never had a good sander back in the day and cuts probably weren’t the best so I would use bondo to try and hide the seams on the wood. My dad was confused as to why I would put so much on and sand it all off. Stupid 20 year old me. Would just spray bed liner on it and call it good. Made one box to hold two 10W3’s in with a PPI 4125 recessed into it behind the seat of my 1997 F150 regular cab. After a couple years of flexing the seams showed back up. Oh well.

Hey brother what kind of flat black paint do you use is it spray can i have so much problems finding that color its either too shiney or it has bad streaks in it and im pretty picky ive bought cheap spray paint from Walmart to high dollar name brand paint and no luck ive also tried rolling on some house paint from home depot and had a little better luck but still not the look im looking for thanks once again mark and another awsome build but what can i/we expect coming from you love your vids

Do you ever use T nuts for mounting subs? Sepecially a sub of that size and weight.

Hello! I have an off topic question to anyone who sees this.. I installed component speakers in my car and used a harness adapter to install tweeter to factory location.. how do I wire the after market tweeters to the new crossover? the tweeters are located in the dash, do i ditch the original harness and run a wire all the way from the dash to the door panel where the new crossover is located? i have an amp ready to install
