Such a touching video! I work for a roofing company and we are currently swamped because of hurricane Ian. In the 8 years I've worked for them, I've never worked a storm that caused as much damage as Ian has. Truly sorry your mom is going through that, but she is blessed to have such a caring daughter! I have to admit that I cried a few tears for your momma. You look exactly like you or mum Mira! You could be her younger sister! It was that way with me and my mum too. She was also passionate about plants her whole life. I still have her umbrella plant, and I will care for it till I die. I can't imagine how devastated your poor mum feels. Oh, wow. I wondered how your mom did with Hurricane Ian. I'm so sorry for her losses and wish her all the best with rebuilding. Beautiful colors in this painting and what a sweet gesture to help out your mom! Hugs to her (and you). I will happily purchase a print. We live a little north of her and were also hit hard by Ian. Luckily, our house is intact and only our yard was wrecked. 10 days without electricity or running water. It was terrifying huddled in our living room and listening to over 7 hours straight of wind and rain beating the crap out of us. We couldn't see what was happening around us because of the hurricane shutters up, but hoped for the best. It was a devastating event that took out Fort Myers beach and the lovely little artsy town of Matlacha. So many landmarks gone. We are at the point now where we want to get the heck out of Florida. 2 hurricanes in 5 years (a 3rd one in 2004)... enough is enough. On a lighter note, to answer your question of the day, my last snack was Halloween candy of course (3 Musketeers). BTW, know that I shiver every time you say 'crusty' 😄There is just something about that word...eek.

I just went to your store and filled my cart, was watching this video while getting ready. So happy to have both greenhouse prints in my cart. I swear I had them before watching this, as I watched another video first, and to hear that your parents are in Florida!! I grew up a couple hours north of them, so this video and these prints have touched me on many levels.

I live in Tampa where Ian was originally projected to hit so I really feel for Mom. While Tampa Bay was unscathed and very fortunate, others not so. many people lost their homes and lives in southern Florida. I love that you made this for your mom. Its a very pretty peice. What is your mom's favorite tropical flower? Mine is birds if paradise.

This was so lovely to see and had me tearing up seeing her reaction. I became online friends with Jayne through her plant shop back in 2020 and I was so devastated to hear about the damage to her greenhouse. When I worked at Camp Barakel one summer as a Technician (this is what the teenage girl volunteers were called -- boys were engineers) everyone helped in the kitchen doing dishes beside their other task (I also worked in the Trading Post/Arts & Crafts). There was this lidded 30-gallon trash can on wheels where we scraped off the trays of left-over food before sending them through the dishwasher. His name was Igor (pronounced ee-gor). [[If you were new, you might be "baptized" head first into Igor as initiation.]] Funnily enough, 35 years later when I picked up my 9 y/o after his first week of camp (and being away from home, no less) while he was showing me around I stopped us dead in our tracks at the back entrance to the kitchen! I had to see ... was Igor still there? Sure enough, there he was under the counter in his "garage parking space." I was flabbergasted. I think Igor would be a great name for your water bottle!

My studio has a window that looks out into our arboretum (fancy word for enclosed back porch full of plants, lol) I think those prints will look wonderful framing that window.
