you did a great job , familar with this process - made a rocky clone for our daughter - i was not aware of the different versions of it , i made a folder and downloaded some images of it to start , it took us 5 weeks but we disasembled the guitar sanded it bare , primered , meticulously paint matched , and also our clear coat was a long process . also we worked when she was at school , she never had a clue but the place smelled funny . i did an eric clapton crash one for my self the next year and right now i am shooting enamel on an sg . i swear its my last one ... the thing that got me about it wasi was trying to really match what he did so quickly so it took time for me . it was my first art project ever . it came out very nice though . there is a beatle band called american english here in chicago , our rocky smokes his but he paid 400 on ebay . when ever i see a clone i look at the dimensions of the color bands , the tone of the colors used and then the detail on the pickgaurd . i took some libertys and i think ours looks neater than the orig , its the same thing with a bit tidier aestetic . i didnt nec want to go for a spot on cone but an interpitation , by choice , i could have pulled my hair out cloning but ... when are they both going to be in the same room right ? very cool video , i loved the music , reverse guitar and sitar . great job :)

For the pick guard did you spray gloss on that too? I'm guessing you covered the pickups?
@ronniedannelley46513 жыл бұрын
Yes, spray gloss on that, too. Used painters tape to cover the pickups.

@@ronniedannelley4651 did you do anything to the pickguard before you used acrylic paint on it? My acrylic paint is not going on great I see brush strokes. Did you have to go over it with a couple of coats?
@ronniedannelley46512 жыл бұрын
@@harrisjon1 Didn't do anything to the pickguard before painting, just make sure it is clean (alcohol rub). And yes, it took a couple of coats.

That looks great, Ronnie. And I like the shot of the guitar and your Beatles' books (at 2.58), because it is always good to compare which books others have, with my own collection. So, you left the pickguard on when you sprayed the guitar with that clear gloss? It does not look like the pickguard is covered in any gloss at all - is that right?
@ronniedannelley46515 жыл бұрын
Yes, I did leave the pickguard on and did spray it. It just didn't show.

Thanks very much for the reply. I was just planning which Strat to get in order to do this. I will also have to line up somewhere that I can spray it.

It is "Skiing" from George's Wonderwall soundtrack...played backwards!

How did you sand it?
@ronniedannelley46513 жыл бұрын
Yes, I did on this one. I learned from the first one I painted, which I didn't sand. Took way too long to just get the base coat on!

Earcandy. you had better return the video"Charles Manson sings with the beatles--helter skelter", or at the very least, relabel it as Charlie MILLES sings with the beatles. This is defamation of character to the extreme!
