God paul was so whipped, even the one-legged wife bullied him and controlled him. Women were directly responsible for breaking up the beatles. John was also whipped by Yoko. Why can't they just stop interfering and trying to be involved?

Leave Linda alone!people Linda was better than Paul we all have songs that aren’t a fit for us .should know I’ve been singing for 47 years never broke thru to the big time but people tell me I’m better than Celine.oh sorry Deion got you people not in the industry You guys don’t have an ear for music as I do I can hear a flat note a mile away and Linda was not that

It’s so hard to hear yourself out there! I’m not vocally trained and I can feel that pain. She has done so many songs with a beautiful vocals. This is unfair to Linda. She loved Paul and wanted to support him.

So many songs where she was autotuned, she couldn't sing live. Like Yoko she interfered and pushed into her husband's career.

"somebody had taken an old disk of McCartney and the Wings - as in the historical Beatles's McCartney - taken and run it through a Kurtzweil remixer and removed every track on the songs except the tracks of poor old Mrs. Linda McCartney singing backup and playing tambourine. Poor old Mrs. Linda McCartney just fucking could not sing, and having her shaky off-key little voice flushed from the cover of the whole slick multitrack corporate sound and pumped up to solo was to Gately unspeakably depressing - her voice sounding so lost, trying to hide and bury itself inside the pro backups' voices; Gately imagined Mrs. Linda McCartney - in his Staff room's wall's picture a kind of craggy-face blonde - imagined her standing there lost in the sea of her husband's pro noise, feeling low esteem and whispering off-key, not knowing quite when to shake her tambourine: C's depressing CD was past cruel, it was somehow sadistic-seeming, like drilling a peephole in the wall of a handicapped bathroom." -david foster wallace, infinite jest

At least Linda wasn't billed as the headliner. Fans paid for tickets to see Paul McCartney...and he could obviously sing. Contrast that with me seeing "Ian Anderson Performs the Music of Jethro Tull" in 2017. Ian Anderson couldn't sing a lick! He looked like a fish out of water, gasping for breaths when he got up to the mic. And what came out of his mouth was literally 20X worse than what Linda sounded like. I thought maybe Ian's voice was strained from being on tour, but that sympathetic thought got squelched in no time flat. Not only did the rest of the band take turns singing the lead vocals while Ian Anderson bounced around the stage playing the flute (flawlessly), but to add insult to injury, they played PRE-RECORDED and unknown singers on video on the big screen behind the band, with the video being played in sync with the live concert! I think I was justified in feeling scammed out of the $200/seat I paid to attend. Despite Linda's sub-par backing vocals, the fans definitely got their money's worth when they paid to see Paul perform.

This is interesting, but I have to give Linda credit for singing with her natural voice. Today, in 2024, many of the most popular vocalists sound like robots singing. A number of them would sound just as bad--or worse!--as Linda if they didn't use AutoTune! Bring back vocalists who actually have a good singing voice without the aid of a computer!

I think the thing was that Linda couldn't really hear herself all that well, which made her out of tune. If you hear her on backing vocals (such as Another Day) she harmonizes great with Paul.

She's singing flat, but nothing that can't be fixed with a pitch-correct processor device.... and besides it could be worse, it could be Yoko Ono singing... We do miss you Linda, you were such a classy woman and awesome for Paul...

Linda did not seek a solo career in music. She was in Wings because Paul wanted her in and in doing so she was supporting her husband in his musical pursuits. She was a wonderful wife to Paul and wonderful mother to their kids. So what if she is off key in this isolated vocal part.

She’s not really that out of tune. If you were to listen to George’s isolated harmonies on Beatles songs (which are available), you’d think he was out of tune, but he just had the lower harmony part without a lot of movement.

Classic. I grew up in Pickneyville, Illinois, which had (and still has, I think), a Decca Records factory outside of town. I often wonder if the workers there ever took any of the records they manufactured home and, if they did, what they thought about The Who's album and this song in particular when listening to it in 1965. Nothing like it before or after.
