Today we're doodling our way into summer with an easy, light and breezy loose watercolor abstract. It couldn't be simpler to get started - just paint circles in your favorite colors, and then try to relax and see where the paint takes you! I switched from paint to pastel pencils for the mark making, and to keep an airy summery feel I stopped sooner than I might have done, and left lots of white space in the painting.

Since I’ve had so little success with white gel pens, I tried a white pastel pencil and was delighted with the result! I have 6 colours so I can now have some fun. I really like this idea of drawing over paint. Thanks for the inspiration.

This easy flowing video was my little "zen" moment. The birds chirping in the background, your gentle chatter and easy descriptions, and your soft color choices; all just made me take a deep breath and let it all go! I love that and it's great for inspirational practice for me. I ordered my Art Neveau set March3 but the latest 'expected' date is July 31. It's nowhere in the world!!! I'm disappointed but not devastated. I love those colors. I saw your vid on how to create your own but being so new to wc and little patience (I just want to paint!) and being old it would cut into the valuable time I have left. I bought the Meeden paints on your rec because of the price, painting looked nice and the fact that I have yet to own tube paints. Then I saw the Frugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich the other day reviewing the exact same set and oh my.....opposite of your review. Doesn't matter.....so many opinions but I will play with them and form my own but half or most of what she was talking about I don't know anything about....yet. Again, thanks for sharing. You are my fave out of a dedicated 6 wc channels that I truly love (I watch a lot more of course) Have a brilliant day😀

Hi Kathy and thanks so much for your super kind words, and for calling me your fave, that’s wonderful! I was also interested by Lindsay’s review. I felt she was asking an awful lot of performance from a $17 set of 24 paints (large 12ml tubes as well!) - and her concerns about the pigment used and the lightfastness etc are not most people’s biggest worry - we just want to PAINT! Each to their own, as they say, and I still stick to my opinion about Meeden paints - good value for the price, clean, bright colors and a good selection of them, plus Meeden will stand behind their product and give a full refund if you’re not happy! I’m glad you ARE happy though - and I’m sorry about the disappearance of the Art Nouveau set - I have no contacts with Kuretake so I can’t get any information from them about the stock situation. Thanks again for your lovely message xxx

Hi Kathy I just checked with Blick about the Art Nouveau set I ordered and they said July 30! I could of sworn it was June 1. So looks like I'm in the long wait list with everyone else. 😭I'm so sad. But hopefully it will eventually get here. Wish that Kuretake would see that ALOT of us want that set! ❤

Diane, do you know if there are empty pans available for purchase (no particular brand) that would fit in the Kuretake sets? I would like to replace one in my set with buff titanium. I could squeeze out what I want in the pan and switch it out with a metallic. I have a separate palette of Kuretake metallics so nothing would be lost in doing this.
