Hello Chris, I discovered your channel yesterday and painted with brilliant colors today. My paints were in the little trays, out of the tube. Yes, they were dry, but I spritzed them and let them soak up the water a bit. I'm happy to say I was able to get the great consistency needed. I never thought of covering up my watercolor paints and treat them like my acrylic paints....been storing them in an airtight plastic flat container, and doing that for years! So, thanks for the tip and all the other information you gave in this video as you went along. I did subscribe and will be checking on your projects now. I would be open to taking some classes from you if you have another site on the web. Thanks again.

Hi Allie, your very welcome and thanks so much for your kind compliments! I'm very happy my videos are helping you to have fun and learn new things in watercolor! ;0) I will eventually work on getting some other video or live type online courses and projects going. I have a book that is taking forever to complete so once I have that finished and out online I will be free to do other teaching projects. Thanks again for your support and encouragement, it means a lot to me! Happy Painting :0)

I never have any trouble getting highly intense color with dried paints. Sometimes too intense! I hope you'll make more short videos. I never have the time to watch 1 or 2 hour videos.

You now ,I tend to go for a more subtle, grey ,or earth toned approach to my paintings , except maybe on flowers and even then, I like to grey the backgrounds, to offset the vibrancy of a flower. But I'm also drawn to colorful paintings ,but only when done well( mostly to look at and then move on). I don't know that I would own "a lot "of them. Anyway, you always have some interesting and informative lessons,so I keep tuning in to your channel . I do own, a few , that are done well, a copy of Van gogh's diner scene, for example. It's something that's hard to get right and is something so many people get wrong-bringing me reminders of the velvet and garish parts of past eras with over saturation of colors that are all wrong. Warhol got it right also. When it comes to watercolor, I guess you have to approach color differently from let's say Acrylics. That is something I'm still learning how to do,having started Painting in Acrylics, but now I mostly paint in watercolor. I still fear colors like Veridian and would tone it down. The reds, I don't mind bright,as long as there is a neutral nearby.. I suppose everyone has their own taste.

Hi Deborah, thanks for the very insightful comments and compliments. Paintings are incredibly fun when we try different color schemes and color mixes I feel. I'm looking forward to perhaps creating a few paintings with more complex color ideas here on KZfaq. Thanks again for watching,. I appreciate you!

You mentioned you like Archers and Fabriano paper. For most paintings do you use hot or cold press? I was fascinated by your long-needle sharp liner brush. I found Di Vinci's on Amazon for $51.35. Any suggestions where I might find one less expensive? Thank you.

Hi Allie, I usually just purchase rough or satin paper by arches and fabriano.Yes,.. you can purchase a great quality #8 needle point brush for appx $30 at alvarocastagnet.net,... I use those exclusively. Happy Painting!

Thanks Chris. Very bold. I ho through my paint so fast if I don't dry them down. My M Graham never truly dry down though because of the honey. I do understand what you say about the intensity being greater straight from the tube though. Thanks again.
