Hi again Chris I have always wanted to have a go at a lighthouse scene..I am very new to watercolour (well painting really!!) I retired 2 years ago and began Doodling which has led me on this WC Journey. I really am able to relate to your instructions and have just completed my first attempt at this tutorial. There are a lot of things that I can see need practice ..over all though I am pleased with the outcome...thanks again so glad I found you!

Seascapes of all sorts are pretty much my favorites and of course that includes lighthouses. I did one of Peggy's Cove Nova Scotia. Don't live anywhere near there but my wife and I were lucky enough to visit so I did it as a memento (11x14). Look it up on line, it a good one to do, well I think so as it shows a lot of rocks which happens to be another favorite of mine. I took a lot of Geology in college and work as a Groundwater Hydrologist. Water and rocks, what's not to like :-) Love the video Thanks!

Thanks Dale, that sounds like a great place to paint. I recall visiting there when I was in my early twenties on family vacation,.... the rocky shorelines and fishing villages were incredible to see. Hi Chris, I really enjoyed your painting! I''m glad you left out the window on the lower, right side of the lighthouse. I think another dark rectangle at the bottom of that horizontal line may have been too much and it never hurts to warm up a sky, imo. On a side note, I noticed you took the "Show More" area of the description box under the video as a challenge, lol I look forward to watching more of your watercolor videos!

Hi Mary, I deal with the buckling paper too. It is a bit expensive to use really heavy weight paper 300g/m 300lb. all the time. Gallery or commission work I will use it. If your fortunate to have extra room in the budget for a thicker paper I say go for it! Happy Painting :0)
