@@homedepot. im sorry, I didn't mean it that that way. What I meant was that it's cool that she isn't encouraged/bugged by fans to "show more" and that her fans accept her as she is, as I've seen a lot of other influencers be told those things and feel like that was the only way to get views. If you are comfortable showing off your body, power to you, it takes a lot of confidence to do that, and I definitely dont have that confidence.

You can always go the extra mile to make sure they know who you are! Join the class a few minutes earlier and talk about personal events, use your life when asking for examples and send them emails about random things. I asked my phonology teacher what alophone he thought a singer used in a specific part of a song (something that bothered me since I was 9) and I said the contents of the class reminded me to the song but I wasnt sure (obviously I dont have a trained ear like he does, so my guesses were probably faaaar away). I bet ge will remember me, even if its by "she was enthusiastic about the topic. She was eager for knowledge. She has critical thinking outside the classroom". Profs are also human beings and they feel insecure when students dont show appreciation or engagement for their jobs. So they are most likely also eager to have certain comnection with their students. I had a teacher first year and I took another class with her. Then I took another one (but dropped it) then I talked to her about being TA for her class and she said no, but invited me to participate at extra reunions with her and some other students to talk more about some topics. Then I asked again to be her TA, and I got the position. Most of this happened online, but I'm certain she will remember me!

I’m an artistic lady who’s in business school for accounting and in large part because you showed me it was possible to do both. I’m so much happier while not putting pressure on my passions to financially support me. I love that you’ve created this scholarship! And definitely cried a lil bit while watching this. I also love that because I’m an accounting student I’m able to understand how your one time donation created an eternal scholarship (a perpetuity! I learnt that at business school in finance class!)

The scholarship is fantastic. 💕💕👏

It’s crazy to see the scholarship videos. I’ve watched simply since I was in grade 7, now I’m in my first year of university. Cristine 100% influenced my decision at a young age to pursue higher education, something that I thought wouldn’t be possible for me because of the financial situation I grew up in. Although student loans are going to be stressful to pay back, seeing these videos makes me happy that some kids get the chance to change the family cycle and not worry as much about the money. Thank you simply for inspiring me years ago and being an example❤️

Office hours are so lonely most of time. I am sitting there weekly for an hour or more just to help students, but it’s rare that someone comes for help and it’s unfortunately usually not the people who need it the most. 😞 You don’t even have to come with a specific question or problem. I’ve had people chat about their lives, goals, and hobbies with me, and as we do, we can connect to class if meaningful, and you can often become more comfortable and remember questions that you have. Office hours are there for *you*! Don’t be afraid to use them. We generally aren’t scary, I swear! 😅 We are just a bunch of nerds with quirks, honestly.

I wouldn’t have had the guts to do that in college. It was hard enough asking for help.
@ladynoluck
@ladynoluck 2 жыл бұрын
@@SCSilk I know a lot of people feel like that, but you are a student because you are still learning. No one expects you to be an expert, and we expect you to need help. It’s beyond unfortunate that our school system and some bad teachers have instilled a fear of mistakes and expectation of perfection in students today. So, you aren’t alone, but it’s something we need to change. Going into office hours once is enough to help get beyond the initial anxiety/discomfort, but not enough do and struggle by themselves as a result. 😞

I'm not a professor quite yet, but I've taught a number of university courses. The one thing that I personally appreciate the most from students is understanding that I'm doing my best and not taking it out on me or making me feel guilty if things don't go exactly as they wanted. As far as favorite students go, a good professor understands that nothing the students do in front of us is generalizable to who they are. At most we can say that a certain student does better on an assignment or in the class, or that a certain student is more inquisitive in this class/subject. However, unless we're hanging out with them socially as friends, we are in no place to judge a student for anything more than their performance in this specific class. We are in no place to "like" anyone better because even those we know the best behave differently in a different setting. This being said, some students make life easier for us and others make life harder, and even worse, make us feel horrible about ourselves. And then there are some that we simply do not know how to interact with by no fault on either party. Does that count as playing favorites? Some might say so, but it's not a "I like this person better" type of favorites.
