Games Workshop asked my Girlfriend and I to paint the New Horus Heresy Set for the Warhammer World Open day. @@BroadswordWargaming For me, it's anger. Or more accurately, hate. I was consuming 6-9 hours of Ukraine War coverage every day since Feb 24. I couldn't think of anything else. I'd put on a video of a song I enjoyed...then quickly close it and open up yet another video of people being killed. Trying to stop. It doesn't feel good to feel that much hate for hours at a time.

Favourite part is when Ciara is talking about how your airbrush styles are so different and everything might not look the same and the vibe is 'That's a later on problem.'. Good for you. You kids are having fun together doing something you like. Sweat the details later. :)

Nice work.... with the editing and voice over it looks so straight forward watching you paint armies. It was a big undertaking and came out great. I also especially like the claws in green.

I love the mix of one person who's been in the hobby for some time and another who's pretty much a newcomer - usually it's one or the other. Consider that your USP! 😄

On larger models like a dread I like to mask half the model and spray the bottom black and the top white. Then I airbrush the base coat then mids then highlights. So you need 3 reds or 3 blues or just white + a dark colour to mix. You guys are really good painters thanks for the video I think I will stop doing the extra steps because yours look amazing :D

If you take a small ball of blue tac and stick it inside the shoulder pad, where the shoulder would glue to it, and then stick a small paper clip into it, while pressing the sub-assembly into a large piece of foam, you can prime and airbrush the shoulder pads, while getting both the (visible) inside and outside of the shoulder pad.

Im not a huge Warhammer fan but, I was compelled to click and I gotta say, this was a video I thoroughly enjoyed and watched straight to the end. You two always make the best videos and I love how you combined your strengths in this project. I love how Ciara explains the techniques as it is not technical and despite having been in this hobby for 30+ years, I always learn somethign from you two and you inspire me to get on with my projects that are just sitting there. Awesome video you two and Ciara, you did an amazing job on the claws and blades! I need to go back and watch your skin video again. Oliver, the tape idea is great but next time use the blue painter's tape. It works really great and no issues with the parts getting stuck to the tape. The lightning claws came out great, although I didn't quite follow the tutorial. The boxset overall looks really great as well, such a large set of models, it would be a great way to start any army, I will seriously consider getting it.

World Eaters had the white & blue scheme. Word Bearers have the one shown in the video (although occasionally theyre portrayed with slate grey armor). Buuuuuuuuut at that end of the day, they're your models, don't let internet randos tell you what to do with them.

Great video from you two as always! I really appreciate you opening up about how parenting affects your hobby. I got into the hobby two years…which exactly how i long i’ve been a parent 😂 🤦🏼‍♂️. On another, i hate the word bearers too, but i actually really enjoy all Heresy novels they appear in 🤔

Just get some grill sticks and blue tack for next time, put blue tack in the middle of shoulder pad, that way you can coat rims aswell

Brilliant stuff, now you’ve practised I’ll send my box over, no time pressure, def would like some weathering… could we go with isstvan and have the dreadnaught upgraded to Venerable and mix up the 40 across all the faithful legions, while you are making the effort put on a diorama running for cover with maybe a single virus bomb hitting… no time pressure ;p.

helmets and shoulderpads are interchangable so just put whatever you like on them

Great video. I can only speak for myself here, but filming or not it certainly wouldn’t bother me if you both decided to wear respirators during the airbrush portion. We all know what you look like, even with the bottom half of your faces covered. 😁
