Painting the WORST Space Marines.. EVER. Yes, I show you how I paint the Warhammer Horus Heresy Forgeworld Breachers from Games Workshop. These Resin models are amazing and would look good in any 30k or 40k army. Using the airbrush, citadel paints and oils, i'll take you through my process from start to finish.

For me it's the fact that they're the only Chaos Legion who seem to actually... you know... 'worship' chaos. The books and new codices seem to make every other legion, including the cult legions, edgy atheists (Iron Warriors, Night Lords, Black Legion) or too crazy to really be religious (Thousand Sons, World Eaters, Emperor's Children). Word Bearers are the only ones who seem to truly be about the whole chaos pantheon thing. Also Eliphas the Inheritor's voice is too damn sexy not to convince me.

I painted like 4k points of Heresy Word Bearers a few years ago. I simultaneously hated and loved them, cackling mustache twirling villain characters and fanatical zealot troops, throwing them to their deaths in combat was fun. Also, as an aside to anyone reading, the P3 Menoth Reds are *perfect* for their armour if you can get your hands on them.

It is a decal from the word Bearers transfer sheet. Unfortunately, I didn't get any footage of the transfers as I did them in Australia.

Sort of, they're word bearers, so they're a brown/red :) The Khorne red is just a highlight colour!

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather paint models for the glory of The Emperor. But if I really had to paint traitors so people can enjoy defeating them in moc battlefields, I would paint Word Bearers over Noise Marines every day of the Emperor Damned week!

Won't lie I got about hmmm... 60 or 80 pages into the first heretic, before i realized that yeah, the word bearers and their literal playground bully of a primarch Lorgar, are the absolute worst people in the 40k setting. great book. but i have seething contempt for Lorgar. I can't wait for Corax to pluck his eyes out like the big Raven boi he is

With regard to the recent controversy about GW and KZfaq. I like some of the GW stuff but I also like other minis (more of a painter and terrain builder than a player)> i personally would love to see more stuff, Carnevale, Wild West Exodus, Dropzone Commander, Gaslands, Batman and some boardgame mini stuff Core Space, RE3 (or 2 and 1) and Monsterpocalypse. As you say if it's not battle reports then the techniques are the same. Maybe it's time for the KZfaq mini's content makers to do a version of Stoptober/Veganuary etc. and have one month a year where you don't cover GW (or even reference them). It shouldn't affect your views but would send a message to KZfaq and GW that there is more to the hobby than Space Marines. I will post this same comment on the other sites I watch. Please discuss it with your pals.
