Used to be a Pandoro guy myself, but then i tried real artisanal Panettone and my life changed irrevocably. I will say this though, it's way easier to find good Pandoro than good Panettone. Truthfully, even the storebought kinds of Pandoro are okay. Panettone is either artisanal and freshly baked or it can't compare.

I am a Pandoro girl, but only because traditionally my family eat it with a mascarpone-nutella cream on top (plus the sugar ofc), but if you take away the cream then I default to a well done traditional Panettone. The classic one with candied fruit... I can eat a whole Panettone by myself lol

My mom and I used to have panettone as our toast on Christmas morning (we’re Canadian) soooo yummy. I’ve also made panettone bread pudding and it’s so decadent and delicious, paired with an earl grey whipped cream it’s a legendary dessert.

Sooo, here in Brazil we have Panetonne, however for the ones who don't like dried fruits (me) there is a waaay better version called Chocotone, instead of dried fruits it's chocolate drops...it's wonderful really, highly recommend ❤

There is a similar desert(s) in Slavic countries that is often made and eaten for Easter. In Bulgaria we call it Kozunak, in Serbia it is less popular and called Milibrod. I don't know the names of the other Slavic equivalents but I know most Slavic people have their own versions.
@danielleking2627 ай бұрын
Is the texture the same for both? They sure look similar. Also, I love that you didn't just do a retake when you mixed them up, further proving that non-Italians probably do this quite frequently. 😂

@pile3337 ай бұрын
Yeah, Pandoro is super fluffy but also Panettone is very soft. Truth is that for many (me included) Panettone, especially the artisanal one, is damn addictive. You could easily almost eat an entire one by yourself if nobody stops you. 😅

I feel like pandoro is more buttery and heavier than panettone, and sweeter -- but I've never checked the ingredients so I don't know if that's true!
@silviaarwen74027 ай бұрын
Similar texture, but different dough! Some people think that if you take out the fruit than Panettone just become Pandoro, but that's not right. In fact you can find fruitless Panettone 😊

@@silviaarwen7402 Best Panettone i've ever had was with pistachio cream, pistachio granola and pistachio glaze on top...and no candied fruit. As a Sicilian, i don't know how people live without Pistachio.

Panettone and pandoro are so good 💜🤤 I also really like the one with sugar icing and almonds and sugar grains on top and raisins inside (sometimes succade). I think it’s originally from Sicily? My zia served that on Christmas and said this type is the original but I have no idea, I just enjoyed eating it 😂 Edit: I’m already looking forward to eating colomba pasquale too 🕊

Forget pandoro and panettone, the true way is pandolce genovese!😂 Merry Christmas from Genova!! Btw pandolce is kindalike panettone but the dough is more like a cookie than bread, and inside there are candied fruits, raisins and pinole. And it tastes amazing.

They are both really good. I hate fruit cake, but I would definitely eat panettone any day. Pandora is really fluffy and delicate. Both are good with a hot drink like tea or coffee, but not a sweet drink as the cakes are sweet enough. Now, to get a vegan version of each available in the UK supermarket would be excellent. 🤌

@@cherylallen5673 You can easily find Panettone without raisins or without candied fruits. Generally those without candied fruits are for children. I never knew pandoro was a thing but I don’t like panettone because I don’t like fruit in bread or cake or anything (just as, like, whole fruit on its on). In the stores here in the U.S. I see panettone all the time but I’ve never seen (or never noticed) pandoro, so now I’m going to keep an eye out for it.
