Still helpful after all this time. Thank you so much for doing this video. I would have never guessed how to do this on my own... Almost felt like breaking the black plastic frame while installing the guards. 😂

yo ESBK used your vid to do mine on a 2021 Panigale V4S, they've changed a few bolts to Allen heads but pretty spot on, the rad guard was the trickiest, just trying to place it but in all took me about an 1.5 hours to complete. Thank you for the guidance

Great job on your videos, super informative. I was watching a few installs of these radiator and oil cooler guards from some other V4 owners and it looks like a nightmare. I called my dealership and they want $600/3.7 hours for the install which is insane. I'm pretty much going to study your video to the tee and attempt to install this myself. But thanks for what you do...your videos are always great. Ride safe and God bless.

Hey Dennis. It’s really not hard, just time consuming because of everything you have to remove or loosen to get out of your way. Start early, have a few cold ones on ice then give it a go 😀

@@ESBKLife Appreciate you. I'm going super dirt cheap and going to buy a set from Ebay for like $29 and free shipping because like you said, it's just a piece of metal that's going to deflect rocks (love that rationale). To secure them in place will it need some sort of sticky foam on the back, and wire/zip ties? Thanks again.
@ESBKLife
@ESBKLife 2 жыл бұрын
@@doctordennis69 the set I got came with sticky foam but I didn’t need to use it. I would imagine that all sets are not the same, so you may need to.

@@ESBKLife Thank you.....what about the zip/wire ties to keep them secured? Or did you just end up pressing them together and then snugly securing them when all the parts and pieces were reattached and bolted?

@@doctordennis69 mine were pressed fit. No zip ties needed. But they wouldn’t hurt anything to use them

i saw all the videos you referenced at the start of ur video. I installed one today on my 21 V4s and I’ll say I can see why the dude was frustrated with the install. The problem is looking for more space to install the upper guard than ur actually going to get. The install is a breeze if you realize early on that it’s not going to simply side into place and you gotta be a little creative with fitting it that tight space.

Great video, just used this to do the same on a 22 v4s, quick question - any chance you or anyone reading this know the torque values for the fairing bolts as well as the bolts and two nuts on the radiator mount/bracket shown in the video?
@ESBKLife
@ESBKLife Жыл бұрын
I think I have torque specs somewhere. I’ll take a look but, fairing fasteners should be snug. It’s only plastic so you don’t want to go crazy. I’ve personally never torqued fairing fasteners.

Hey ESBK....bought my radiator and oil cooler guards just now. There was a sale on the Evotech brand so I just got those. Going to attempt this install myself. All the bike shops around here are booked until September and most want at least $400. Was wondering...how do you remove the middle fairing, the one with the little black colored lip on the bottom? Last time I tried to install this, I remember not being able to remove that piece, although I did remove the entire main side fairings. Is it possible to do the install with that piece still on? Hope that makes sense...go to the 2:39 mark of your video, it's where your left hand is exactly, right above your fingers, that piece. How do you remove that piece? Anyway, the part should be on it's way and I'm going to refer to your video for the install. No bike table/lift but I do have a Pit Bull stand so I'll be working low to the ground. Wish me luck! Thanks again for all you do!
@ESBKLife

The Evotechs are good guards nice choice! I’m not sure which piece your talking about but I have a fairing removal video, you should check that out. But the middle fairing is held on with 2 rubber grommets. They push onto 2 aluminum dowels. The rubber grommets can get dry and not like to pull off. The result is a broken fairing tab. So in my video I just removed dowel to avoid that problem. Hope that helps

Hey! I noticed you removed your charcoal canister! Was there any reason fro that? Because I'm having start up issues with my Panigale v4 when it's hot. Thinking it has to be the charcoal canister that's causing it.
@ESBKLife
@ESBKLife 11 ай бұрын
IMO, it's an unnecessary emissions device that can cause issues like you are describing. However, others can and will argue that if it wasn't necessary, Ducati wouldn't have installed it. Regardless, I remove them on all of my bikes. However, this one was already removed when I purchased it, saving me the trouble lol.

I actually haven’t reached oil change mileage yet. But I’m a big fan of Motul products. I use 300V is all of my other bikes. Having said that, when it does come time for an oil change, the Speciale will get Motul 300V 15w-50.

@@ESBKLife yeh I run motul 300v 10w40 in my gsxr1000. It's good stuff although I hear doesn't last all that long. I usually change oil over 5000km street or after every track day.
@ESBKLife
@ESBKLife 2 жыл бұрын
@@marcusbarnes5929 it’s a full synthetic. You don’t need to change it that much particularly for street riding. You should shoot for 9-10000km before each change. Every track day is also a bit much. However, if you have a full blown race bike with built motor, then every track day may make sense lol. For my track bike, I change it twice a season. Once in the spring then again after about 5 track days. That’s roughly 9 total hrs of track time between changes.
@marcusbarnes5929
@marcusbarnes5929 2 жыл бұрын
@@ESBKLife I have read on a few different forums the 300v hasn't got as much of the cleaning detergents in it compared to the motul 7100 for street and to change the 300v more often as it is a race oil. Everytime I have dropped the oil at the 5000km mark it's come out still green not much darker than fresh new 300V oil.

Also forgot to ask....I'm sure you've ridden the bike a few times since installing the radiator guard....have you noticed any problems with increased heating/overheating because of airflow? Does airflow get hindered at all with these guards? Any problems at all with small rocks or debris getting stuck in between the guards and radiator causing rattling or other issues? Those were some of the concerns I've read about online. Thanks again!
