A fantastic remake. Probably one of the best remakes I've ever played, and it's a remake of one of my favorite games of all time. While there are a few extremely minor things that bother me (Power Bounce nerf why) it's still amazing, and a great way of introducing and showing new players why the early Paper Mario games are so well received. The new content, while small, also shows that they are capable of making interesting fights that use the original battle system. Just please don't let this be a one time thing. Please.

Shadow Queen actually gave me a lot of trouble in my playthrough. I was doing a 10HP run and relied on Defense Plus and Damage Dodge to boost my defense (and evasion badges for good measure), but her magic attacks pierced all my defense. Ended up using 2-3 Life Shrooms

For me, when I got to opening the door for the first was chilling for me, the music was insane and it was super menacing to me.

After weeks the most popular paper Mario game comes to an end, if I had to choose to have this game remastered again I would choose it a billion times

We had to open the Thousand-Year Door, do all those puzzles, and he just... happened to sneak by us every time? But then, how were none of the puzzles completed on the way? How exactly did Grodus the areas where we needed to become a plane? 14:50 - 15:00 So, did Vivian not know about any of this? Did she lose her memory of the Shadow Queen? Did Beldam simply not tell her the plan? 17:34 Huh. Yeah, now that I think about it, Grodus didn't really USE the Crystal Stars to awaken the Shadow Queen because WE still had them. So, why did he waste his time fighting us when he was already ahead and had Peach? Hell, Beldam probably could’ve done that too, why even have Grodus as a middleman? 21:03 So, now there's a BOOK called Paper Mario and a PLAY called Paper Mario? Both of which are about two separate, if very similar, adventures that, aside from the times we used the paper curses, have NOTHING to do with paper? And you didn't even call it "Playper Mario," game. I'm so disappointed in you. 21:39 Well, I'd imagine there's not much that Grodus can do as a head, but HOW IS HE JUST A HEAD?! Now, I know this game is made for children, but let's be honest; Grodus should've died. It kinda takes from the whole final battle, in my opinion. It would've been a stronger scene to see this game's major antagonist wiped out by the Shadow Queen, a much greater power. Like, Hooktail and Gloomtail were killed off for real, and it seemed likely that Grubba was, too, so how come Grodus getting the axe was too dark to make the cut? 21:18 But in addition to the ridiculous Grodus reveal, what also didn't sit right with me about the epilogue was Beldam suddenly becoming a good person just because the Shadow Queen when reviving the Shadow Queen was Beldam's master plan from the beginning. Unless they were implying she was mind-controlled or influenced in some fashion, they should've done a better job at explaining it. Otherwise, it comes off a bizzare at best and mind-fumblingly dumb at worst because you have to remember: Beldam still verbally abused Vivian and gaslit AND summoned a demon to take over the world. Plus, neither Beldam, Marilyn, nor Doopliss ever get any comeuppance for their actions. And I really do NOT like the forced message of abuse victims going back to abusers just because they're *family.* It is one of the most toxic messages you can tell to someone, especially victims of abuse, and a total character regression on Vivian's strong character arc in Chapter 4 when she specifically stated that she would not go back to her family. This wasn't even the first time that Nintendo pushed such a bad message to their players, as they did the same thing with Lillie, Gladion, and their abusive mother in Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. "Who cares if they verbally and physically abused you and gaslit you into feeling terrible! It's all water under the bridge as long as their *family,"* and to that I say you can fuck right off with that opinion.

9:10 i got stuck at that part for a whole hour because i didn't see i could jump and grab onto those, my partner kept hinting at it and i didn't even notice, i thought i had to do something specific in the other room to unlock a platform or something like that.

4:53 - The best part about this bug is that Paper Mario 64 has a similar bug in Koopa Bros. Fortress There's one wall you have to bomb to get a key in a cell, and the hole on the other side still has the crack texture floating over it, although it's a fair bit harder to notice given the fixed camera angle and the fact it's just the crack texture, not the whole wall looking intact

12:12 little late to deliver this information, but when using power lift, i learned that once you get level 4 in one stat, if you don't pick up any more arrows for that stat you pretty much guarantee level 4 for the opposite stat... my guess is that every arrow shortens an invisible timer, which is why you level 4 for both stats despite hitting a poison mushroom

Oh thank god they fixed it! Fixed what you may ask? King K of course! In the original game during the segment where the crystal stars return to where you got them and everyone cheers you on, they messed up the glitz pit one and put the Blue Koopa there instead of King K with what was clearly King K’s dialogue. They fixed it in the remake!
