The 2 teachings of this parable:
Firstly of Gods patience, love and forgiveness towards his children. God is waiting for his children to repent of their sins and return to Him and follow His teachings and attain fellowship with him. If we choose to ignore God and pursue sin then we cut ourselves off from the Father. The Father loves us and wants our love and attention and it is best for us when we are with the Father who is the source of all life, comfort and goodness. The things of this world are temporal and fleeting, they are vain and are idols. The source of all life is Gods Spirit.
Secondly is the warning of those who are in Gods kingdom and who believe and follow Him - not to be resentful of sinners. We have all been sinners and we should all rejoice when anyone repents and comes to God.

We leave you out of everything, Lord. The whole system from top to bottom arrays itself against you and your word. Your worst enemies are those who call you friend... and your best friends are those who call you enemy and sin against you. We say that we love you but we do not love one another... nor do we keep your commandments and follow in your foot steps. We speak your words for our own gain and to control the minds of others and we use the sacrifice you paid for in torment and anguish to build kingdoms for ourselves in this life in your name. At all times we who claim to be "Christian" discredit your name with our behavior among non believers... and we hide our faces from you in shame and speak your name only with reluctance and great awkwardness. You are the beginning and end of all things... and it was I who beat you, denied you, imprisoned you, and crucified you. My condemnation and punishment has been just, Lord... but I ask that you hear me and remember me when I leave this earth and enter into your presence. Lead me as you would a blind child and keep me from evil. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you to our Father in heaven for his sacrifice in handing you over to me to be destroyed on my behalf. Thank you for the joy and beauty of life which you have revealed and restored in my heart and the hearts of men. Have mercy on me but nevertheless, let your perfect justice come and let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

This parable is about faith and grace in Jesus Christ and not your works. Your works and repenting of your sins don’t get you into heaven. It’s Jesus alone that ye are saved.

Yes because the older brother was working and was upset that the father killed the fatted calf for the prodigal son

With all due respect, this is actually not the meaning of the parable. But whilst we’re on the subject of faith/works, that isn’t what James 2:19-26 says. Read the rest of the passage: “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. I’m assuming that your comment is aimed at us Orthodox as well as to Catholics (and no, before you even say it, we are NOT - I repeat - we are NOT the same). The problem is, that is not what Orthodox Christian’s believe, nor is it what Roman Catholics believe. But no matter how many times we tell all you Protestants that’s not what we believe, you just keep repeating yourselves, ignorantly insisting that we do. Nobody believes that one’s works are what saves them. This is a heresy known as Pelagianism. However, that still does not take away from the fact that good works are still necessary for one’s spiritual life. The Lord gives and withdraws His grace to whomever He wills. And since our good works are only made possible by His grace, one way that we attract the favour, and thus, the grace of the Lord, is through following His commandments and living according to God’s Natural Law. The very act of obeying God’s commandments is a work; it is holy action. This means that, although good works in and of themselves are not what saves us, they still play a crucial role in our salvation by virtue of the fact that they serve as channels through which grace can manifest. St. Paul actually confirms this in his epistle to the Ephesians, almost word for word: “For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Protestant evangelicals love picking fights with Orthodox Christians and with Catholics without even understanding the theology behind it; which is, ironically, the same theology upheld by the entire apostolic tradition for the last 2,000 years, as confirmed by the church fathers as well as the Ecumenical Councils (which still serve as the consensus for the Faith). Protestants cite heresies that find their roots in Luther, whose erroneous “justification by faith alone” theology is founded upon the absurd notion that all “works” are somehow the same in the eyes of God. However, when Saint Paul wrote about “works,” he did not teach that works are all the same. He never, ever taught that. On the contrary, Paul teaches that there are two distinct categories of “works,”: 1.) Dead Works 2.) Living Works. The very act of repentance is also in and of itself a work. Hence, “works or acts of charity”, “acts of kindness”, etc. The term, “good works” literally appears in the synoptic gospels approximately 13 times.

It's a shame that you cut out the best part of the scene where Peter comes in and says forgive me for I'm a stupid man you should've left that part in

I love the parable but hate this post. Firstly, it's monetized... an example of Priestcraft. Secondly, it's misleading. It's not in 4K, but rather 1080p. But the most grievous sin of all is that the aspect ratio is wrong. There are far better versions of this clip from Jesus of Nazareth on KZfaq.
