Here comes the obscure game - the cinematic RPG under the name Parasite Eve from the well known Squaresoft. The game also utilizes some horror aspects and is actually a sequel to the novel of the same name - Parasite Eve, written by Hideaki Sena. You know, mitochondria is the source of all power and havoc and everything in this game.
While you cannot do much when it comes to FMV scenes and backgrounds running in 4K (too much blurry garbage caused by stretching the low-res stuff), 3D models look great and crisp. Running the game in 60 FPS causes it to be slightly faster even though the movement is so smooth. But speed comes in handy in battles. You can kill enemies quickly and make random encounters a bearable ordeal. The menu also has some mishaps (leveling up bars), but oh well...
I highly recommend you to play Parasite Eve and I consider it to be the best out of three sequels (yes, I'm counting 3rd Birthday). There is something so foreign, yet so charming about the game that I rarely, if ever, experience these days in gaming. Oh, and Aya Brea is very cool as a female protagonist. I don't even have to mention the soundtrack composed by Yoko Shimomura that amplifies the entire atmosphere in the game to 11!
