In the beginning the woman seems to be thinking that Gail can somehow just make their debt go away, give them a way to cancel it. She probably thought Gail would know something about bankruptcy as an easy way out. Surprise! You gotta pay it off!

This is definitely one of those episodes where the issue is far beyond the money management. There is a lot going on in that family relationship. This people need therapy way more than Gail.

I use to watch this show religiously and after 7 years this is the first episode I searched for. Says alot about how obnoxious I remember this couple was.

The look on the wife's face as soon as she met Gail said it all. Fear, defiance and shame. She knew she'd be exposed for her crap. I love how she made a "sincere" statement about never having a credit card again, and then when Gail only gave them $2000 she said ok we can put that on our new credit card. What a piece of work.

that woman never grew up... she is indeed nothing without her husband supporting her. she is lucky he is too foolish to realize he is being used. he makes 85k a year and they could easily live on 40k a year if they chose to. if he invested 45k a year for the next 10 years with a 9% return he would retire with 745k, but with his wifes crazy spending habit they will probably die with debt.

I'm surprised they got even $2k. $1k maybe, just for shoqing up, but they didn't do one exercise fully to learn and turn themselves around. Hope Hailey goes to school because she will probably be supporting them when retirement comes. They probably won't have her either, she will have a tough time with reality once her reign of being the Princess ends.

Retirement isn’t THAT far away for this couple. They should be hitting retirement age about the same time Hailey hits college, which will be a financial impossibility. I’ve seen this episode before - probably the biggest case of denial ever and one of the most unlikeable women. Why doesn’t this lady have a part time job? Wonder where they are in 2022?

Wow, I just got to the part where Grandma has the challenge to pack up their stuff and can keep 6 bins of stuff. Grandma ALTERS the challenge and tells granddaughter that a tornado is coming and they have 5 minutes to pack everything up. When granddaughter gets upset, Grandma has the audacity to claim the moral high ground and try to paint Gail as the bad guy in the situation! Edit - and now I just watched the end where she (in front of the camera!) reveals they opened another credit card! I normally don't like 'where are they now' episodes, but for couples like this, I wish we knew how they ended up.

The woman in the show was so disrespectful and lazy. She was also a liar. When she was supposed to work with her granddaughter to fill all the bins with needs versus wants, she instead created a fake tornado scenario . When the child got bored and began to cry, the grandma smiled! How twisted is that. And too lazy to finish the task. She only filled one bin because filling the bins and putting things away again was too much work for a woman who doesn’t work. (I know she has a child and housework, but so do mannnny of us who watch the show.) And the kicker at the end. They had just sworn they would never have a cc again. When they received only $2,000, she stage whispers to her husband, “we can use it to pay down the new card we have.” GOOD GRIEF! What an obnoxious person. As others have commented, the are so many other couples who would be thrilled to be on the show! And last, there is so much dysfunction being modeled for this child. Being given everything as a child never results in a healthy adult life.

They should redirect the money they spend on therapy.

To be that age, that far in debt, and ignore the help that they asked for tells me they will never learn, and will always have a spoiled dependent grandchild who expects a free ride in life.
