Paris to Bristol - This is the last day of the trip! In some ways it was quite emotional realising that today was the final day. It all started with a ride through Paris to see a couple of the main sites and then off to the Tunnel for the trip back to the UK. The weather started well but did not stay that way, not at all! About 50km from Calais the rain started to fall. It rained pretty solidly for the remainder of the ride. I ended up soaked to the skin, cold and ready for a hot shower!
The whole ride was incredible, both the ride down and the way back. I had loads of time to reflect, plan, scrap those plans, make new ones, think again, you get it. A friend of mine said that the whole trip reminded him of a monastic experience, and in all honesty it really was. Loads of time alone, most of the time with no music, no podcasts etc. It was time alone with myself, in my head, in my helmet.
I have a whole list of video's I'd like to put together, which I have started to plan and organise. This channel is being very much formed by you the subscribers that have got involved and contributed so much - I can't stress how much that has meant the last few months, it's been great fun.
There's more in '24!

Made me laugh, I remember pulling up at the Arc de Triomphe and thinking to myself, I might die here 😂😂😂 . And I commuted into Central London for lots of years but there's nothing as chaotic that. Always rains in northern France when I go through, even if its sunny everywhere else.

You are taking your life into your own hands round the Arc de triomphe for sure. What is the deal with rain in N France? It was just hard, heavy and constant.

Fantastic to see the videos. Good to see how you stuck it out through the heat and at the end, cold and very wet. I ride a 900cc like the Thunderbird is; a TDM900 to Spain last summer (only rained on twice) and now have an older Diversion 900 - smooth 4 cylinders, shaft drive and just a bit lower seat height, but heavier and carbs. Just waiting for better weather to get out again. Maybe this year do the NC500 and a few central Wales rides. I'm a Bristolian now Yeovil-onian so was interested to follow the journeys of a Bristolian; very refreshing videos!! PS Is there a gasket on that right cover to keep the water out? A little gap at the bottom to let it breath and drain.
