The hammer switch breaking is just sawdust or plastic coming in the metal ball. Its a spring pressing a metal ball and that holds the switch in place. Just clean it out with wd40 and its fine. I had the same issue. After this never had any problems with it.

The drill switch might be stuck because you have to turn the drill head a bit. Happens quite often on battery drills with hammer setting.

I have the same issue with the drill hammer switch. I found that if I tap the switch lightly, say with the handle of a screwdriver or even the SDS end of the bit I'm using, it will free up and I can switch modes. I assume it's caused by an overzealous retention spring in the mechanism which could do with a bit of trimming, but I just couldn't be bothered to open the thing for now. And sending it back to Lidl is a pain in the backside. Last thing I sent over for servicing took them 3 months to send back and it was in fact a new product which pi*sed me off worse than the delay. It basically means the tool I sent for servicing is filling up the dump pile for a small part that they should have available.

parkside mini angle grinder's switch is also quite inadequate. i often have to hit it with a hammer to turn on after the outer switch is clicked. something is loose inside. parkside drill press is also a barely useable product. the table is both slacking away from the rod and turning left and right no matter how much its bolt (M8 or M10, 4.something hardness index) is tighten. depth gauge broke before first use. 1 out of 3 handle arms are loose. parkside combined jigsaw-sabersaw's selector lever (pendulum/straight mode) also often stucks like in the video. 70 cm straight edge+square+protractor tools is inaccurate by about 0.5-1°. parkside laser distance meter is completely unreliable. there is a 2 cm gap in the floor in my room because of it.

I agree with you, however parkside tools have a 3 year guarantee. For the first year through the shop you bought it you should have taken it straight for a replacement or your money back, It's very hit or miss with parkside and the revisions are normally to make it cheaper and more plasticy. Pick a brand and buy in to that system truth is the 4 or 5 main brands all make good tools, spend the money on the biggest battery you can rather than multiple smaller ones better one 6ah than 2 1.5ah, I went with Bosch, dewalt, makita, Milwaukee, hilti and featool

To cut a long story short, they sent me another, which came today, 5.2.24. I haven't tested it yet, and I will do it tomorrow and see how it goes. They told me to hang on to the other drill in case my new one has a problem. If so, they will collect both and refund me. I've already decided I'm going for a Dewalt drill 😉 thanks for you're adive wish I'd seen you're post before I brought the drill because I wouldn't have. I hope the new one will be ok 👍

Cool . I have an impact screwdriver 20 volt and a cordless drill 20 volt from Parkside brand . They are brilliant. They are used 5 days a week and I have lots of batteries as they are cheap . My impact has started to make a funny noise as it's nearly fucked but I still have the receipt and a year left on the warranty. I know they don't stock them anymore until the summer so I get a replacement then. I did buy another because the batteries will be no use without the tools when I see them. First one was £20 . Better than paying £200 for a quality one where the batteries are £80 each . When I brought the impact drill a customer ask me to get her one , but when I did they changed them so the new ones are smaller and £30 so I didn't bother.

yeah, dont buy their pneumatic impact, youre better off just taking the socket in your hand and turning on and off your bolts, its weeeak! also, their small bench grinder, with that flexible driven output on the side, shure, for grinding small balsa woodensticks, it might work. Any kind of metal? absolutly no. Have had their angle grinder, the first one had a defect, so that the cutting disc was wobbeling side to side 0.5cm, went back to the store and took another one from the shelf. Have beaten on it for over a year now, heavy and hard to get into places, but still works! Gonna buy their 20v drill next time i have the opportunity, they seem pretty good also.

I love your way of assessing tools. I did buy a much earlier Parkside rangefinder at Lidl about 3 years ago. That seems to be OK on the room refitting and shelving projects I have done, but I haven't used it enough to be sure yet. What I did look at was the Lazer leveling device, but I was dubious about the quality of it and that really needs to work reliably - Have you tried one of them?

Hay thanks for watching, yeah I would highly recommend the Bosch quago and there Lazer spirit level they are not in the professional range so there a bit cheaper both worth every penny the quago from Bosch especially it's been such a big help in the building site I use it constantly and I'm. Not disappointed with it it's only a x axis but it will square of a room and do most jobs, the Lazer level is good for stairs picture's any thing that's off level as well as level

The "latest" doosie is the Scheppach table-saw. Yours in the near past for around €100...or less. Out this weekend for the "bargain" price of €300.... some hike.... still a bit naff too. Their tools have all gone to feck - that sandblaster is some pish - bought one, lol - shoite.. past Fartshyte angle grinders were alright - those too are now gone to feck - last one stuck less than an hour before the smoke escaped.. They did/do an air-powered polisher - it's brilliant, as are their cheapo air spray guns - you've to dick with them a bit, but they're a great spraygun for the money. Unlike their impact drivers - those are pish.. That moisture meter works alright - for firewood, which is what I use it for. Fine for the price.
