Used your vids (1&2) and just installed recovery hooks on my 2015 KL Cherokee. Your instructions were so detailed and easy to understand, the install not only saved me about $400, I also did it in my garage with basic tools. Hardest part were those damn plastic rivets lol. Thanks man!!

Thank you so much, I was at the gas station last night and I bumped the parking bumper and busted my headlight I was so bummed out then I found your video and I was able to fix my headlight and repair the bumper that had came off it's clips thanks again from Brownsville TX

One of the, if not THE, best narrated videos on the subject. You Sir did a fantastic job and it is greatly appreciated. Able to repair my daughter’s Cherokee easily. I did encounter one post replacement issue though. I’m getting a P1D73 Active Grill Shutter issue. Grill opens more than 100° or closes before the closed command is reached. I’ve read the dealership needs to recalibrate the Active Grill System. Do you know if this is true?

It's ridiculous that Chrysler made it so complicated to remove the bumper. Furthermore it was big mistake to put the headlights in the bumper where a light hit to the bumper will break the assembly. Proof in the pudding is that the 2018 year no longer has the headlights in the bumper. Anyways, excellent video, this really helped!

Hello. Your video makes it easier and helps. I have a problem with heating the driver's seat. It turns out to be a common problem. Have you thought about making a video of how to fix it? If you know can you give me some advice.

They do have videos up about adjust the front strut tower and adding spacers to the rear coils. It’s actually VERY easy... however if you have any rust or pesky bolts, then maybe spray the all of the components down the night prior and let it set overnight to loosen things up. I did that using PB blast and it took me about 2 hours for the front and 2 for the back. Did it in my garage, no special tools or lifts either. Good luck, these babies look awesome with a lift on em.

there are so many forums about recovery points on the new cherokee. the trailhawk has hooks and only some models (like the limited)have a screw in point on the front bumper but then a large amount are getting mixed answers on if there is a spot on the latitude with AD1 to either install hooks or just some kind of recovery point. the trailhawk bumper does not fit snug enough and some people have trield the swap. wondering if you have come up with this issue ever and if you found a solution apparently all cherokees, when you take the bumper off should have holes in the first metal bumper that go allll the way back to the frame but in some, the holes goes to no where. i have a 15 kl latitude north and i do not have the circular pop out holes on the front passenger side bumper

I havent had to deal with any of the tow hooks yet or try to see what will and what will not work. Looks like I wont be of much help on that subject.

I haven't taken a closer look at the jeep yet, but do you think it's necessary to take the bumper apart to take a look at the Active Grill Shutter Assembly? I may just have to pop it back in place as you did on the Ram video, not sure yet

Looking thru the service info....it states that the shutter assembly is attached to the front bumper cover. So it will need to be removed per the service info. I havent done one myself to see if there are any shortcuts or room to access the linkage to reattach without removing the bumper cover. There is an important message in the service info that if you need to replace the shutter assembly: When replacing the active grill shutter assembly or active grill shutter actuator with a service part it will be necessary to perform a counter reset with a scan tool. MotorCity Mechanic one last question...I noticed you said if I replaced the shutter it would be necessary to perform a counter reset tool if replacing...bu would it be necessary if I'm just repairing as in just pushing it back into place?

I feel its only needed if replacing but then again....never had to do this repair on that vehicle so not 100% what affect it will have.

If that front bumper cover and radiator is damaged in a collision, whats a rough estimate on the replacements?

Where do you find the rivets to attach the front fascia to the fender well liner

Just above every auto parts store carries them. You will need to the special tool to install them.....plastic rivot gun. Otherwise you can find them on line. The fog lamps are accessed thru the fender liner....there is an access panel to open and then reach inside on both sides. The headlamp bulbs are removed from the engine compartment.....you may need to remove the air filter box to get to the back of the housing.

Only mention that the service info states is the air filter housing. I havent had to replace one yet so I dont know personally.
