Bowtech and Hoyt vibration and speed. I went back and checked your videos: Hoyt Alpha X - vibration 6.2 - speed 335 Bowtech SS - vibration 10.2 - speed 328 SR - vibration 11.1 - speed 340 Hoyt by far had lowest vibration and if I remember correctly it was up there for speed. Not many were faster than 335 from what I recall. You need to post all of these results in a grid on your website. 😉

Hoyt gets heat about the tuning but the system is simple and bulletproof. There's something to be said for KISS, but they should offer more spacer options so it's more granular, which seem like a relatively easy update.

I think the reason for the hate is from the explanation you give. If you are saying you are being unbiased but then give numbers based off of saying “I give numbers based on what I think the bow should do and not just the numbers it gets”. I think that leaves room for people to be skeptical if company “A” gets positive remarks from a test while company “B” may seem to get negative remarks by posting similar scores.

I couldn't believe Josh and Tim have missed this point across multiple videos. Elite has had 1/4" draw length adjustment for years and with the SPX cams the let off has an infinite range of adjustment between the two extreme settings. I actually use the let off adjustment on my Verdict to essentially micro tune the draw length beyond the already impressive 1/4" adjustment of the modules. I know that changes the holding weight but I'm prepared to sacrifice a few lbs of holding weight in either direction to get a perfect feeling draw length.

Josh is right about Bowtech. Since I am mostly a ground hunter even for whitetail 🦌 I want a bow that offers a bow stand for setting up in a natural blind or stalking, etc… but also have easy at home tune ability. That’s why part of me would lean Hoyt or Mathew’s but the deadlock system for Bowtech has me interested but no bow stand option has me leaning Hoyt. Sadly I can’t afford a new bow but if I could that would be my choice.

Btw the Phase 4 had the same exact riser as the V3X and went up in weight by what almost a quarter pound so that limb system added a significant amount of weight so they have even more weight to save if they go back to a quad limb bow. My guess is their next iteration will either lose RPD or they’ll somehow integrate it into a quad limb system by baking it into the limb plies. Either that or they will gain weight in their next model.

The thing that concerns me with the new Mathews Lift is how far those limbs bend during the draw cycle. It is a 29.5 inch ATA at static, but probably 27 inch at full draw. Also, you can move those cams side to side with very little pressure from your hands at static. Makes me wonder if these bows will have issues derailing. The limbs are very thin at the tips. Time will tell.

I guess I am confused. Based on MFJJ's rant about why he loves the LIFT, if Hoyt had cut 0.5 lbs from their aluminum bows he would have to say EXACTLY the same thing about the Alpha X. Other than cutting weight, Hoyt has all the same new things on their bow that Mathews does. New riser, new limb pockets, new cam, new strings, new limbs, etc. etc. In fact, one could argue Hoyt has more new stuff with the 1/4" draw adjustment, back wall adjustment, and 75 to 85% letoff adjustment on the cam. Following this logic, the only reason MFJJ is way more fired up about the LIFT than the Alpha X is the weight. That is the only difference between what changes the manufacturers made. Velocity difference is in the low single digits on a percentage basis.

@@stephengatley8144he could just own his bow shop and make purely spec videos instead of this grading system he uses to influence his audience to buy products. Nobody is complaining about his opinions but he’s repeatedly claimed he’s completely unbiased. If he was unbiased he wouldn’t be trying to convince us he is. If he feels it’s his right to make misleading videos on accident or on purpose it’s 100% the audiences right to push back and ask hard questions. Telling people to forget about blatant hypocrisy is not a good way of solving the world’s problems. I just don’t understand why he wants to be the #1 bow reviewer on KZfaq if he’s friends with the number one selling manufacturer. Just seems a bit unethical if you aren’t just posting the speed and specs as they are measured by a standard. As soon as you start giving Mathew’s hypothetical numbers and brush over a high reflex you lose my trust. Also ignoring some of the Hoyt features in the review was unforgivable when it comes to him doing his best. If he can’t even mention all the new features of the Hoyt but he can breakdown every single part of the Mathew’s it makes you wonder why that is.

The Lift is the most shocking release this year, and it's impressive they went so aggressive after introducing 8 limbs last year. However, even owning Mathews now, I feel like there's some refinement needed. The speed was average despite a more aggressive dump into the valley, and I honestly don't believe you pick up 4fps at 80%. 85% was super jumpy when I tried it so I can't even imagine using 80% in the field this year. And that mass reduction does come at a cost and I think Hoyt now has the deadest and most solid feeling shot. And Bowtech has a way better draw cycle than both of them. So it's all what you prioritize, and it's good problems to have.

My last set of strings on my SR350 lasted 3500+ shots, all in performance, and in all kinds of inclement weather. Try a different string maker, maybe a local or smaller operation that isn’t just trying to pump out as many strings as possible. My string maker takes the extra time on my strings knowing how harsh Bowtech is on cables. I shoot both a Revolt X and SR350 all on performance and have had 0 issues with his strings.

Mathews despiser here and probably for not the reason that many are. I will not deny that Mathews makes good bows especially since they got rid of the crosscentric cam. I think overall they’re anti consumer… I can’t make any adjustment to my draw/let-off without buying a 60+ dollar mod. Bridgelok is proprietary, expensive, and cannot be used on ANY other platform. All the mods pro-shops have to carry is honestly sad. And it’s annoying you have to completely remove the cam/axles for just a string swap. I think other companies overall are doing better and the fanboys are insane
