This little tool is easy to make and works extremely well. If you want to make perfect dados on the tablesaw then a simple kerfmaker is the way to go. You can certainly make a much nicer looking one but if you're not worried about aesthetics (not that this one looks bad but there are some very nice looking ones around) then this one is perfectly functional and is very easy to make.

YEAH! No more mis-cut dados! Thanks for this awesome jig idea. No more than I use a dado blade it just never seemed practical to buy one. THANKS AGAIN.

Excellent tool, AND excellent description: you told us what you were going to do, you showed us how and why in making the tool, you showed us the use of the tool (how and why), then showed us what can go wrong--wow! That is excellent teaching. Nicely done!

Made this little chap at the weekend , works a treat. One addition I added a dowel in the opposite end to the screw just to tie the two bits together. As the first glue up wasn’t to successful. Thanks again

KZfaq suggests videos based on the types of videos watched. So I wasn't surprised when KZfaq suggested I watch some other kerf maker videos. I have to say cobber, "Your kerfmaker video is hands-down THE-BEST-VIDEO-OUT THERE I HAVE SEEN SO FAR! BAR NONE!" I reiterate, bar none! Simple, to the point, and easy to use. Not too simple and not too complex. Spot-freaking-on! Thank you 😍

Real good explanation. I bought an aluminum one a while back. It works and looks great. I also bought a couple of aluminum adjustment knobs and made a wood one. It works great. However I like the simplicity of your jig and your explanation is the best! Thanks.

Thank you for this video. The design is simple, effective, and doable. After blowing up/flinging my first one with a cheap rabbeting bit I made a second try and got a nice one that didn't try to blind or maim me. A couple of tests to dial it in and I am SO pleased with it. I was able to cut 6 long dados with it to build my daughter a bunch of picture frame ledges. Nailed them all on the first try. Thanks so much. This thing *rocks*.

I just made this. It works like a beauty! So simple, yet so effective. Pro tip, plane down the side that will take the wing-nut, so the top side is just proud of the bottom. This will allow the washer to get a really good squeeze on the top half.

I didn't even know such a thing existed, and having recently bought a table saw and having made a sled and making a number of dado joints using just the stop block method which is a bit hit and miss with regards to a tight joint, I can see that this is one of those really should have tools, thanks for sharing.
