Ive wanted to get into knitting and most of the vids i found werent very clear or slowed down like this. Made it hard to nearn as someone whose on the autism spectrum and i got frustrated. Found this gem and i love it. You dont talk super fast but you have clear precise examples and you show how to do it so its not frustrating😊

I am so glad you posted a tutorial! I have been so curious how you knit because you’re also a crocheter. I was taught how to knit very differently and it is SO inefficient especially when doing any kind of ribbing. I see knitting as necessary evil to get the type of fabric that I want for certain projects but I would rather crochet if I can. Two rows in and I’m already matching my old speed. This is going to be a game changer! Maybe I’ll actually start to like knitting more.

Hi, I learned to knit as a young child, being taught by my mum and nan. Neither of them use this method, and we are from the UK. I was taught to keep the working yarn in my right hand, flicking the right pointer finger up to go around the needle anti-clockwise. I also learned to use the really long needles, and you tucked either 1 or both under your arms. This is more of a Scottish way to do it, I think. I also learned to crochet, which is my love. The hook can come out, and you don't have 300 stitches to pick up when you have pulled the wrong needle out of your bag! Crochet also grows much faster, but I do at times put a knitted cuff onto a jumper. I will have a go with your style of knitting as I have a vast array of knitting needles from my mother in law. My mum taught me to knit with the thumb cast on and with the UK knitting style. Very grateful for that .- I was curious about this way but it will take a few watches to get it to sink in😂 I do prefer US crochet terms though.
