8:52 in q7, why is part c wrong cuz we all know that ionic compounds have strong electrostatic forces of attraction while the covalent compounds have weak intermolecular forces of attraction… doesn’t make any sense why it’s wrong😕

you are right but what you need to understand is that NaCl is an ionic compound with electrostatic forces and not ‘intermolecular forces of attraction between molecules’ Secondly, it is NaCl is not a *molecule* it is an ionic compound but in c the examiner is referring to it as molecules- which is false Hope that helps clarify the concepts :)

⁠@@carboxylchemthat’s what i said that ionic compounds, i.e. NaCl has strong electrostatic forces of attraction while covalent compounds, i.e. sulfur dichloride has weak intermolecular forces of attraction… and in part d (which is the correct answer) they are talking about the “forces between the molecules” just like they are doing in part c, so…

you are right but you aren’t reading the option thoroughly it says ‘NaCl molecules’ in c whereas it doesn’t have molecules they are ions text me on whatsapp +923335694666 i’ll walk you through it :)
