What a gorgeous demonstration of using Stabilo carbothello pastel pencils! I have looked at those before, but wasn't sure if I'd enjoy working with them. I love how you approached this piece and the color blending/layering. Bravo :D

I love to draw with pastel pencils in cheap paper too, like paper bags and stuff like that, in fancy paper, even pastel paper, it just… don’t know why is not the same :0

I find I can’t use normal coloured pencils due to the pressure needed and motion being hard on my joints (I have health issues) but watching this has made me think pastel pencils may be worth a try as don’t seem to need the hard pressure to burnish as such if I’m correct?

I went through a phase of religiously using these pencils after doing mostly graphite drawing because I wanted to transition into color & I really recommend these as a start. They’re so good! The vibrancy of the colors will have you amazed. I still go back to them when I’m missing them. ☺️

I never even thought about using pastel pencils even though I enjoy charcoal and graphite, they were the first mediums I fell in love with... now I think I might give these a try, you made some beautiful results with them

Stunningly beautiful, I didn't know you used pastels. I hope you use them more, if you like it. Perhaps combining it with watercolor or blending them with water.

P.s. I hope your family and country is safe and I’m praying for you and your country! People here in California are starting to make changes to stop the spread of the virus. My son’s school is closing next week for a time. I’ll have more time to draw and paint at home.

Really nice portrait 🙂 pastels get a lot of hate but they are really easy to use and come in so many colours and forms people should really give them more of a chance

Wow. I need to get out my pastel pencils and get busy. I got a Derwent set a while back. I thought they were going to be smooth against the paper, but they're more like chalk. I guess I confused them with oil pastels. Anyway, great drawing, Wero! You can't see me right now, but my hands are pushing buttons on a keyboard. Bye.

Hello! Brilliant video! Other than the Ikea Mala paper, do you have other suggestions for pastel papers? I find it very difficult to find papers that wont get filled up quickly. The pigments from the pastel pencils just become dust. Or am I just putting too much pressure? 😅 I’m just starting out so a Clairefontaine Pastelmat is just overkill for me haha.

Justtubingby I suggest using a knife/art knife to sharpen the pencils. It allows you cut off the wood only and not waste lead/product.

Justtubingby I think spending the extra time will be worth it tho. Right now I can’t really afford to waste product. Art supplies are expensive haha. Maybe try a sharpener that have different sharpening levels? You can twist the setting from 1-5. 1 will be the dullest setting. I usually adjust the settings till I find a sweet spot where it doesn’t break the lead/product.

I use a sharpener that is for the bigger pencils. It works great! Also be very careful

Hello, i don't know if you will answer to my comment, but i have a suggestion. Can you maybe make a video about how to draw clothing? Whenever i draw the creases of clothing, they don't look realistic, but really amateuristic. It is up to you. It's oke if you don't want to do it. I will always support your channel! 😊
