I like that it sounds different form the other chain axe, they couldve copied and pasted the sound, but they went a head and made a new one Massive props to them for doing so

I think the motor sound for revved attacks is the same and also for heavy vs lights. But that's fine. I agree with you on the level of effort being worhty of praise, if not the direction.

So happy with fire being less absurd. Had 2 tpks on lights out missions yesterday due to loads of bombers spawning in the beginning. The floor is not supposed to be lava x.x

I died while sprinting out of fire as a vet in the time it took me to see the grenade go off and start running. So its a good change. Unclear if its the right change.

The sound is great when you swing at nothing. But it's tru when you hit something and there is not 3 mutie yelling in the back, it do be sounding like you are weilding a 2x4

As much as you like the rev noises... its VERY clear you are not using the chainsaw motor for both the new chainaxe light attacks or the OG chainaxe heavy attacks. You're just swinging it like a saw toothed club lol

I am aware that that is the visual design fatshark went with and they are wrong for doing so. No one uses chain weapons in 40k that way and I made a big long 2 part video proving it. Its bad audio-visual design and it ruins the power fantasy. I will wage this crusade as long as I play darktide!

Honestly? There's no reason why EVERY SWING shouldn't sound like it's revving up like crazy. The only thing that makes the special rev unique is that it's meant to be held into a single enemy. No one in 40k is bonking people with this thing. It's made to remove body parts and tear into armor.

about the fire, has anyone experienced a bug where picking up an ally in fire does not reset the fire tick scaling? at least I think that's what's happening. I hope this patch fixed it cause I had 2 games where that took me from 3 wounds down to dead just cause my teammates kept rezzing me in the fire

I think its not entirely intentional (and is still broken), it has bonks on most soft targets but has a standard sword flesh-cut sound when used on tough targets like mutants, ogryns and carapace helmets. Either its reversed and they still haven't realized it, or its supposed to sound like a simultaneous combination of bonks and cuts but their QA department is always out of town. Turn up the volume on the engine and we'll cope well enough.

I think its intentional. Notice the complete lack of animated blades. Someone really thinks we're out here cleaving multiple targets with unwhirring chain spiked clubs.

He's clawing his target with a serrated blade. Not the best but it would work. However what's the distinction between leaving it idle and having it spin when its normal heavies don't actually get stuck in targets anyway?

I'm on the fence but it was an absolute nightmare last patch where it would kill me sometimes before I could even get out of it. I liked that it broke toughness immediately. But people complained so here we are.

@@Reginald-sc9tk Until they fix bombers throwing a grenade THROUGH doors, bombers chucking grenades like they're mag dumping a striker, and flamers spawning in mini-hordes I am perfectly fine with flame area denial acting like a supersoaker full of OC spray. Honestly if they went back to flame duration being 15 seconds instead of the crazy 30 it is atm I wouldn't really mind what flame does, but the fact that a single bomber, hiding out of line of sight, can keep a party permanently pinned in a hall way is broken. As it stands, a single bomber can put down 3 areas of fire before the first one fully dissipates. Khaine help you if more than one spawn.

The fire nerf is so nice, now they just need to make it stop pushing you back so you can’t close the distance. It’s freaking liquid why is it pushing my giant ogryn back 10 feet

Flamers should have pushback. Ever rushed a firehose...in this case literally? didn't they already get rid of bomber stun? Ogryn charge should be stun immune.

That fire nerf seems a little extreme, i think its ok for fire to be dangerous and while it was overtuned i think that nerf is a little too much

While I respect your desire to have your face melted off, I think that fixing "Players don't like all their shield taken off by touching a corner of a flame" with "So now you lose half your face instead" was a bit drastic. Even tho I enjoyed a change in special killing priorities for a bit.
