Patching a Disintegrated Outer Wheelhouse

11 ай бұрынI finally put some more work into the Polara... Baby steps! The original wheel arch AND most of the outer wheel house were long gone, with only a hodge-podge of bondo, cardboard and fiberglass making up a long-since failed repair. This video shows some of the challenges involved when there is little frame of reference in terms of locating your panels.

Looks good. I have used coat hanger before on thicker gas welding. Looking forward to more.

what kind of filler rod is that? on the torch welding

It’s two .035 mig wires. I held the two together with pliers on one end, and chucked the other end into a drill to wind them together. I’d recommend safety glasses when doing this... ask me how I know 😆
