I feel like ”Beginner/Intermediate Tips and Tricks” would be a better title for this video. Folks who haven't already spent 5-10 hours browsing the wiki/Reddit/other KZfaq guides will definitely feel overwhelmed after the 8 minute mark. With that said, as someone who's been seriously playing for a few days, this was the perfect amount and depth of information. Thanks!

i didnt understad jack shit after 15 minutes too. The problem for me in poe is that there is no group lay or multiplayer so experienced players can help you how to play.

Started at the beginning of Legacy and even though I already spent many hours into the game, there were still some worthful tricks I didn't know (like the jeweler's orb recipe for socket colors). Great work Ziz, thanks for taking care of new players (which I still consider myself). Thumbs up!

A very good and complete guide to basic game mechanics in PoE. I play PoE from time to time over last 2 years and You really did a great job covering all things. Those 40 minutes pass quickly and i recommend it to everyone who wants to dig into this great ARPG. See You in 3.0!

I will add that this is moreso a guide for people that have some experience and understand the very basics. For someone that never booted the game up before I think it would just confuse them. For me it was perfect.

Thanks a lot for making this. As a really new player (just reached lvl 39 together with a friend who is also new) this has opened up so many things I didn't know anything about in the game. Very valuable informations. I will have to watch this several times to learn everything, I guess. Thanks again, making the game more accessable and easier. (We thought the hide out might be some sort of guild house thing, lol)

When I started watching your video I thought you sounded super boring at first but holy cow your video is so informative and i've learned a lot watching it! So glad I found this guide. Ive got 200 hours into PoE and crafting items, maps, etc is one of the main mechanics of end game and good trading practices - knowing your tiers, your pref/sufx . For me it sounded so complicated that I almost never crafted and lost out on a big part of the game. So thanks for well made video!

No doubt this is an really good guide, but it's more like an "you're pretty much into the game, ruined your first character but know all the mechanics.. and now I tell you how to do it right" guide

I gotta say, I really love this game. Its fun, challenging and I stop to listen to the story. HOWEVER, if your a new player (I have only been playing a couple weeks) to say this game is overwhelming is an understatement. There are SO many things when you start this game that are NEVER explained. There is a fine line between a game "holding your hand to much" to a game "dumping you in the world" this game is the latter by far. With that said, there are people like Zizaran who try their best to ease the pain, but like most gamers, me included, once you hit that advanced part of the game trying to explain it to us "lower beings" is just hard. This video is a good start to get a basic understanding. Even in 45 min's, I would wager he could go 3 hours and still not really explain this game all the way. Good video to watch BEFORE you start playing.

A lot of good tips in here that veteran players could learn for, like coloring 2 red then changing sockets to 2, then 3 until you get your desired 3rd color.

I would think newer players would be waaay less confused than they were just a year ago.. Honestly I think GGG has made a very good case in streamlining a complex game without compromising said complexity :) That being said, I might be a bit biased as a casual re-returner to the game :P

i've never played these types of games and just jumped in blind with the oriath expansion. it's honestly not that complex and GGG did a good job teaching you what you need to know along the way in the campaign. I have more than 100 hours in the game now lol. it's so good.

Admittedly I am feeling a little overwhelmed with the complexity of the game. I have played a few hours and enjoying it, but certainly feel like I missing a lot. I have watched this video and I feel like it hasn't helped.. maybe made it worse hahaha. I super appreciate the effort that has gone into the video. I feel it'll all be more appropriate when I pound more hours into the game. I always have this sense of dread that I'm doing something that I'll regret later. haha

I just started back up because it came out on console. I say started back up, my time on PC I don't think I even hit level 5, I know I never had more than 3 zombies. And let me say, the skill tree confused me until I took time and looked at the skill tree. I Thought "Oh this ability looks fun, and I have a hundred different ways to get to it. Time to spend the next hour finding what path I want to take."

Excellent video! Used to play this back in the day. Getting back into it now given that the Diablo III folks are obvioulsy lot serious about making a real RPG. Also Everyone is so paranoid about learning the game properly and loosing rare items lol Play the game, fuck it up, get stuff wrong - its a game! You will know the game waaaaay better than those too afraid to fail at it.
