This is the first video of hopefully many more throughout 2019. A Pathetic Man-Child attempts to destroy all the vintage Star Wars figures he can. He does this to help him cope with the terrible, awful, painful place Star Wars has gone. Will it help him? No.

I'm not exactly violently upset, but I'm a little miffed at the near-pointless destruction. I would've preferred if he had given them to some kid who likes SW OT, or just a nearby second hand store or whatever; then other people could've had the joy of playing with those action figures. Although the close-up of the figure with the outstretched arm, sinking into acetone like a terminator into molten steel, was pretty enjoyable.

Authorities were baffled why they didn't do this literally any other way like with a microwave- stove- saw- hammer or even bricks-they could of atleast emptied the containers of acetone in a larger containerized planned ahead so they could simultaneously dumped all the acetone in at once so it wouldn't just look like grey foggy bullshit. So much money time and their lives I guess wasted on such a lame stunt wow and these guys are critical of other people? Or the media they put out when this is there shit??

More like amateur Star Wars experts, which is no shame at all. Even so, unboxed toys have SOME value, so they are subject to supply and demand. I'm about to be 39. This video changed me. I realized this huge Star Wars collection I had is really just a bunch of Chinese junk. Then the movies started sucking. Then Toys R Us shut down when nobody bought Last Jedi stuff. I also have every extended universe novel since purchasing The Han Solo trilogy about 30 years ago. Star Wars was such a different thing back then. The EU was the only thing keeping it alive, and it was only concerned with the adventures of the main characters that we all grew to love. This video changed me. It had to happen eventually, but I regret all that wasted time and money. It was so simple and good. I don't know what Star Wars is now, but it's not good, positive, or fun. Anyway, I can totally relate to the overall theme of this video. Although sarcastic, it changed me forever.
@nexusva8252
@nexusva8252 Жыл бұрын
Wasted Time? With the new movies maybe, but just because Star Wars sucks now doesn't mean the memories you made growing up are worthless or make you out to be a fool who got duped into buying trash. If those things gave you joy as a child then thats what has value, and it can never be tarnished, regardless of the intention of the creators or shareholders now.
@tryingbutfailing
@tryingbutfailing Жыл бұрын
@@nexusva8252 Respectfully, I disagree. I spent a lot of money on this franchise and spent a lot of time reading the books. The new movies sucking really made me aware of the futility in trying to harness the good feelings of the past. Everything changes, and I should have moved on sooner. I was immature and living in the past trying to recapture my childhood, and that was the source of my addiction to collecting. What I thought was fun was desperation and procrastination. Life is too short to not constantly be trying to move forward and mature. Maturity doesn't mean you're not going to have fun anymore, but it is a stage of life that, the earlier it is embraced, the better off you will be. You will be more financially stable, more appealing to the opposite sex, more capable of raising kids and making THEIR childhood a happy one. You won't be playing with Star Wars anymore, but you learn valuable skills like building a house, fixing a car, getting certifications and education so you can provide for yourself and your family. I may have wasted too many years being immature, and it is NOT fun now that I'm an adult. The ideals of society have even changed to shitty ones not worth fighting for. I found myself hoping that the New Order won and beat the crap out of the resistance because they are a disorganized sexist bunch of liberals, and I'm not on their side. I felt that them losing some of their freedom and some of thir lives may actually be good for them. I don't mean to get political, the resistance were just not a group of people I would fight for like the rebels were from the original trilogy, and I'm not talking about the Disney Rebels, either. I didn't like them, either. I'd like to see them beat and oppressed like I was. Now the Star Wars logo envelopes my soul with extreme regret. I regret wasting time and a fortune on it. I was stupid.

"More appealing to the opposite sex" You quit a hobby at the age of 39, and you expect to automatically become a sex god? Well, I hate to break it to you, but no one is attracted to a middle-aged fat guy who smells like skunks having an orgy in a Subway dumpster. I understand quitting a hobby because you got bored of it or because you need to save money, but expecting every woman in a ten-mile radius to want to marry you just for that is not just dumb, but completely delusional. If women weren't attracted to an egotistical flatulence factory who weighs as much as a shopping mall before, they definitely aren't now, either.

I'm sure nobody is watching this comment section any more, but whatever - You can do this a lot more efficiently with Xylol/Xylenes than with Acetone. Even more effective, but MUCH more expensive, would be to get your hands on an equivalent amount of modeling plastic cement - which is just a mix of those and a few other solvents specifically formulated to melt plastic and then quickly evaporate so the melted plastic goes back into solid phase. That way, I'm fairly confident you could get all the figures to melt down entirely into a uniform slurry of plastic goo. At that point all that would be left would be to cast the whole thing in a gigantic mould of a bust of JarJar. Once re-exposed to air, the solvents would evaporate and leave you with a solid plastic casting. Of JarJar. I think that's the best way to pay tribute to the spirit of Star Wars at this point, right?

Is it worthless garbage though? Figures that came out alongside the biggest movie of all time way back in 1977 seems pretty cool to me. Yeah maybe not super valuable but certainly not worth destroying. Even melting 100 would make the point, but it seems needless to destroy 2000.

@@Nightwing-bh2tn i think it is worthless. They literally made millions of those things. also (and i speak from experience working voluntary with kids) kids these days dont like toys like that. So donating them would be pointless.

A lot of people are saying Mike should've given the toys to kids instead of destroying them. But give that thought a few more seconds, hm? These toys were bought off ebay, they would've ended up sitting on a shelf in some 40-year-old's house, they were never going to be played with. Plus why would a kid wanna play with toys from the 70s/80s? Even as a kid when the remastered original trilogy came out I wanted the new toys not the old ones, simply because the new ones were nicer and had more detail.

Mafkas are STILL rage commenting on this vid. That’s the power of this art piece. Good on RLM, and good on all who didn’t feel it necessary to mention their attachment to pieces of plastic or rather the past memories associated with such petroleum based products. Idk I kinda get it. Pretty short sighted to just generalize collectors that way. I'm not really a collector myself (i do some reselling) but it's kind of a shame to see things that have sentimental and monetary value get destroyed for trolling basically. You'd think all the people on RLM wouldn't be so quick to call people "man children" and shit as they binge videos of grown men nerding over pop culture and movies. The whole art of collecting is what keeps these old toys relevant, because you're right, they're just plastic toys. But personally I think being taken care of is a better use of all that plastic than trashing them. They have negative value to the planet and ecosystem if they end up in a landfill, they at least gain monetary value if you save them. THAT SAID, I think the artistic statement it makes towards Disney is almost worth the loss, and I'm assuming that cube won"t be rotting in a landfill. The toys were also already opened so they aren't really preferable to collectors anyways. This video doesn't trigger me or anything but I kinda hate that RLM fans have turned this into "fuck collectors" when they literally have done nothing wrong. Adults are allowed to buy things.
