This home is intended to be an overview of the Patio Villa Home Type in The Villages community. The Patio Villa is THE most affordable SITE-BUILT home in The Villages. However, there are manufactured homes in the northern end of The Villages that are more affordable. The two homes shown in this video are Colony & Cabot Cove models. They are the only 2 bed 2 bath models you will find in the north of HWY 44 in The Villages, which is the majority of The Villages. There are also 1 bed 1 bath and 2 bed 1 bath patio villas in The Villages but they are rare. Also, in The Fenney/Southern Oaks section of The Villages, there are newer Patio Villa models that include larger models and even models that are 3 bedroom 2 bathrooms. This type of home is right up my alley! Like another commenter said, with so much to be doing, who really needs a big house? We are retired! We have a huge house now, with 5 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, laundry room, kitchen, dining room, family room, living room, workout room, 3 car garage…and are empty nesters! My husband and I would relish a cozy smaller home for just the two of us!

Perfect for me. I do like the courtyard villas better because of the fence/wall. The size is good. My preferences are a bit larger eat-in kitchen, front lanai, laundry room and fenced garden/yard. I’m thinking I can’t get the fence and the front lanai in the same package unless I have a corner lot.

Real Estate is very overpriced today, and these houses are no exception…the kitchen is minimal, the finishings are low end, and quite cleverly the broker is trying to sell a small home without many features as a positive of “low maintenance.”

I bought my house new in 2003. 3 bedroom, 2 baths, 2 car garage, on 80 x 120 lot in Palm Coast Florida for $80,000

Hi Theresa, thanks for your comment. I promise, no cleverness was intended. There are other models and homes in the villages with more features and upgrades. The purpose of the video was to show the floor plan and what you will typically find. Theses particular models are some of the least expensive homes in The Villages so often they do not have many upgrades when built, but some homeowners make changes after purchasing. They are low maintenance because of the smaller lot size, and many people love these homes for that reason. My video on designer homes shows larger homes that tend to have more upgrades. I will be releasing a video on "premier homes" in the near future which will showcase the largest and most impressive homes The Villages community has to offer. Maybe those videos will interest you. aaargh....a plastic fence?? And a plastic house that is literally inches from your neighbor? Totally overpriced for what you're getting!

In the Villages you are buying lifestyle! The villages has more golf courses than any retirement community in the world. It is recreation heaven. If you don’t golf there are dozens of pools, pickle-ball courts, tennis courts, walking trails, over three THOUSAND clubs, classes, restaurants, doctors offices, & so much more and.. EVERYTHING is accessible by golf cart and the community is impeccably maintained. That’s why these homes are priced the way they are, not because of the construction. :)

Yeah, Lego Town for sure - but - the Villages does offer lots of reasons to NOT be at home a lot. As someone who has almost broke my back on this old house for 25 years, and now getting ready to retire, this doesn't look too bad. My wife is crazy nuts to go on a Lifestyle Tour, so I guess I'll be getting on a plane soon. I can live in any house she chooses.

@@GUITARTIME2024 I am. That's why I live in this POS old place. I picked it for the flat lot so I could build my dream Man Cave - which I did. The house? that's her choice, and after all these years with no dishwasher, etc. etc.,, it's her turn.
