Aunt Sarah is completely rude to Lady. The baby was crying because she kicked Lady out, not because she scared him.

@@antoniogirgenti9738 Yeah Jim called her on the phone the night the baby was born. He couldn't shut up about it he was high as a kite with excitement. Hell he told the doctor "It's a boy!" even though the doctor was the one to help with the birth! XD

It still pisses me off how aunt Sarah barely made it right when they had to leave. If they weren't in such a hurry, they would have had time to explain to her that Lady is safe around the baby and they probably would have noticed her cats. I highly doubt they were happy to come home with their curtains and piano scratched.

Me too, and she didn’t even like Lady. And even took her cats’ side when they acted innocent and Lady got blamed for the mess. Like where’s the justice?

Me too. She's pure cat person and prejudice to dogs. (At the beginning of the film till the end) Jim and Darling trusted Lady in helping looking after thei baby and what did Aunt Sarah do? All it takes is for her satan cats causing trouble, point the finger at Lady, leading a misunderstanding that she treated Lady poorly that she went and put a muzzle on poor innocent Lady cause she thinks she's a threat to the baby, when in reality she didn't done anything wrong. In the live action reboot, this trait shows clearly of how poorly Aunt Sarah mistreated Lady, that Jim and Darling kick the former out for what she did.

I love Lady’s little facial expressions in this scene alone. No dialogue but you can still read what she’s saying. 0:22 0:26 0:32-0:35 0:41 0:43-0:47 0:48-0:50 You can make up what she’s saying without her having to say anything.

What *amazes* me that went Lady ran away out of the pet shop, she didn't bother to really look for her until she ended up in the pound the next day, and *they* themselves had to phone her to say she was there with them thank for her collar/license! Lady *was not* her pet, and if she had just straight out ran away from town, what *then* would have told Darling and Jim? PS: I would have *just cut her off* anyway if I found out she was doing such things behind my back (e.g. sneaking her cats into my home via her bag, buying a muzzle to be put on my dog without consulting me etc.).

Lose it? Like how? Do you cringe? I certainly do. I mean, the baby probably doesn't like the way she sang "Rockabye Baby" to him. If I was him, I would cringe at that voice, as she reminds me of my American Grandma Dorcas.

This is why I can't stand Aunt Sarah. Like here she didn't even let Jim and Darling introduce Lady to her, and was so insistent on making them leave just like that. If this didn't happen, she and Lady would have gotten along just fine.

She *did* know about Lady, but *just* hated her/dogs, and not giving much of a dang. Really if you *really* have to blame anyone, it's Darling and Jim Dear. If you are expecting a child, then *go away* a good fortnight or two before giving birth to your child. Owning such a pet like an Cocker Spaniel dog helps no matter either (me being that, I should know). Might have been better to give Lady to either Jock or Trusty's owners for the amount of time they are gone if they *insist* on going away in this timeframe, and just let Aunt Sarah looks away their son and house only. 🙄

I mean, she realizes she was wrong when she saw the dead rat and gave Lady and Tramp dog treats for protecting the baby. Even Jim Dear and Darling chastises her for not understanding Lady and that she would never barks loud if she thought the baby wasn't in danger. I think that's enough comeuppance for a character who is more of a jerk in the wrong than evil.

When I was a kid, I watched the movie a lot, and I always thought that Aunt Sarah was forbidden to come back to the house. However, she was seen having a picnic with the family in the sequel, so I can't say for sure how well the terms were.

The way Aunt Sara just rushed them out of their own house. They didn’t have time to give her any ground rules. Like don’t worry about Lady because she’s gentle with the baby, and don’t let your cats scratch everything up, and don’t leave the baby’s window open at night (which is how the rat gets in). She’s an awful babysitter.

I hated Aunt Sarah’s cats, those mischievous fiends. Even got Lady in trouble for the mess they made. And I’ve always wondered, what does Aunt Sarah have against dogs cause of how she told Lady to shoo and didn’t even think to look for her after she ran off.

I grew with both dogs & cats & I kinda understand why some people may not like dogs like the smell & how hard is to train them but it’s not the case with an already trained & well behaved dog like Lady.

If you play this VHS edition on a VCR set in a certain monaural audio mode, it'll actually cut off Aunt Sarah's off-key singing "Rock-a-Bye Baby". Then again, seeing this was one of the earliest Disney VHS tapes to have hi-fi stereo sound, I can see why they'd make such a mistake.

I think people are being overly judgmental to Sarah simply because she doesn't like Lady and Tramp. Are people also ignoring the fact that she's a loving aunt who took good care of her nephew? It's not like she was ever mean to Lady without reason. She sent her out of the bedroom because she thought she was bothering the baby, she put a muzzle on her only because she thought she wrecked the living room and injured her cats and she only called the dog catcher on Tramp because to her he's a strange stray dog who knocked over the baby's crib. But need I remind you that once she was made aware of Lady and Tramp saving the baby from a rat, she sent them a bucket of dog treats as an apology?

Agreed SO MUCH. I believe that one reason she blamed Lady for the misfortune that her cats caused might come from simply being more familiar with how to handle cats more so than dogs. I don't know how familiar with Lady is she, but I think she has never owned a dog nor has she been so close to one before.

I'm actually glad no one is like that in my family all my aunts and my family on my mom and dad side are dog lovers and especially me I'm a die hard dog lover I'm crazy about them I love rescuing them and I actually wish more would live in my house to keep me company because I just love it being filled with them I wouldn't care if it was 13 or 15 living in my house I would still love them non-stop I'm kind of like Sophia Bush

Users here talk about not liking Sarah’s singing. Well, you wouldn’t hear her sing on the 1998 VHS re-release. I think the 1987 VHS release was based on the movie’s theatrical releases while the 1998 VHS re-release might’ve been based on a previously unreleased demo.

Also, when she found out that a rat was trying to kill her nephew instead of Lady or Tramp maybe she realized that dogs aren't so bad which is why in the second film she spends some time with her family with the dogs and her cats Si and Am making me believe at some point in her childhood she might have been attacked by some dog making her having to have cats instead or she didn't think dogs were good pets at all at some point. So, saying she has no soul is very disrespectful even if she didn't trust something she thought wasn't good back then vs. now sometimes that's just the way people are and most of the time things change within that person over the years or, not.
