This seemed like a pretty positive take on it, but I am sure they will be pissy about it. I do think it will come out in October. Like you say it kind of has to at this point. They know that. All this being said, their target audience isn't really us retro folks. And those people don't know about it yet. Can they reach that target audience, very hard to say. I'd say I'm 50 50 on if it will be semi successful. I personally still have some hope for it because I believe the controller will allow for paddle like controls and games to support that. However, it will still be a tough call for me at the current price point. There are odd hate videos out there about this system, but I personally don't think you guys have been that hard on it. Mostly just skeptical and somewhat not interested in it. Maybe your tune will change when it comes out. But I have personally not had an issue with your coverage.

I loved Earthworm Jim like everyone 25 years ago but there's no way a new game in the serie could be any good... it's a product of the early 90s... that's like making a new Home Alone movie or something.

@@KevenLC Well this gen did brought back older IPs like Sonic Mania, Mega Man, Crash, Spyro, Streets of Rage, Panzer Dragoon, and Wonder Boy and those were great. Last gen brought back Kid Icarus, DuckTales, Fatal Frame, Abe's Oddysee, and Killer Instinct and those were great too. The gen before that brought back NiGHTS, Klonoa, Rayman, Rocket Knight, and Blaster Master and those were great too so you'll never know, it depends on the dev and how they'll handle it and since this new Earthworm Jim is going to be handle by the original Shiny dev I doubt it'll be anything less than decent.

@Lassi Kinnunen 81 I think they have a unique controller and that's it. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. We won't know until people can get their hands on it. Other than the controller, they couldn't have any sort of radically different or specialized hardware.

I'd have gladly bought that, I still think a lot of the remakes of classic intellivision games they're making for Amiico look really cool, I'm just less and less excited about the idea of plunking down the money to play them

The disc spins but play regular games will be difficult because it's easy to spin the disc instead of going up, down, left, or right.

@@ezg2000 I think it is hard to say how the controller will work until some folks give it a try. It could be interesting if it does work for certain games. One area we are missing in consoles nowadays are precise unique controls. Could this work out? maybe. But until people actually get their hands on it it's hard to say negative or positive.

He asked about putting a “knob” on the disc to play spinner games & TT said it wouldn’t work because contact from pushing in the disc needs to happen.

@@astroblast9352 True to a certain extent. But I am going by history of the previous controller. I know this one is updated but not having a stationary d pad to move up, left, right, and down while playing platformers, shoot'em ups etc will be difficult.
