Just heard this song of the first time. I am not a massive Weller fan, but I am blown away by this song and the sweet, tender tone of his voice which sounds like it's getting better with age.

He's always been a great English folk singer, among other things. From "English Rose" and "The Butterfly Collector" to this.

He cemented another banger, I write. I can only dream of writing like he does. To make something from nothing, is mesmerising. I have no idea how he would explain how he wrote this. Men like this are such an important central figures in music for both listeners and active musicians. He’s there now, apparently according to “some” papers , he does it because of divorce payments, to ensure maintenance is there. But I think we all know it runs deeper than that. You can’t voice pivotal emotions and align them with mesmerising tunes for the sake of dollars, my personal take on him, is he’s the man. Covid-19 screwed up my booked tickets, a present from my lady. Keep very safe Mr Weller, and during lockdown write another one! None of us thought we would live through a pandemic, it floors any catastrophe from the 60’s, it’s so huge that it would take a brave musician to tackle it. Bob Geldof had a line of talent to voice concerns for famine, this however needs a song as potent as “Jesus To a Child” by George Michael, but with all the vigour of Paul’s “Going Underground”. I believe the nation needs someone to address the omission of normality, the constant withdrawal of rights. And (more poignantly) We clearly never knew how good we had it, for the first time in our lives we became aware of just how brittle our very existence was! Some people will no doubt chastise me for mentioning Mr Weller and Mr Michael in the same breath. But that’s the beauty of music, it’s subjective and personal. I’ll wager that Paul Weller likes that track, however that aside “Aspects” got me, within mili seconds. Thank you Paul. I wish I had had the good fortune to have met you.take a listen to my stuff if your bored. It’s on here, because I wanted to be a man who didn’t die with my music still in me. There’s a difference however, your tracks and your back catalog will be revered in the pages of musical history. Think about that and just how huge it is next time you have a reefer.

I was listening to this driving up the Motorway and it got my attention as to how good this concert was, not only with Pauls songs but also the standard of the other musicians, well done for that, it was a pleasure to listen to.

It's not in the way It's not in your hair You won't find it Under your chair It's not in a hollow Or pieces of wood I don't see it Anywhere no more And as long as The wind blows The tides flow Along Under a blue sky On a new wave In a new world Today It's not in a holler Not in a scream You won't find it Under your feet It's always inside you As old as the sun It's holding the answers As new as the young And as long as The wind blows The tides flow Along Under a blue sky On a new wave In a new world Today Crippling aspects Of life with no rhyme Nor that of reason Or that of time To find true meanings And patterns in things Symbols in making These moments exist And as long as The wind blows The tides flow Along Under a blue sky On a new wave In a new world Today
