I really want to do this with my self made pc, it has a Gigabite H87-HD3 motherboard, I bought a pcie nvme ssd installed windows and it didnt boot.. im looking everywhere for a solution.. Do you think i need to do the bios modifications like you are doing to these pcs? if so, is it the exact same process? Thank you so much for uploading such helpful content!

The process is really dependent on the chipset of the motherboard (and if you can get write access to the bios)

No luck with getting my 7010 to identify the new ssd. Bought this caddy and disk management only finds the DVD drive. Assumed faulty caddy so plugged directly into the ssd using SATA and spare power cable and still having same issues. Anything I need to configure? I see there is another white colored SATA looking plug on the mother board. Do I perhaps need to plug SATA into that? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

You might need to enable the SATA port in the BIOS, but it should be already enabled. Are you replacing the DVD drive or adding an extra drive?

Thanks for the reply. I managed to get it to work. I was adding a ssd just like you were in your video. Very odd as I eliminated it being a dodgy SATA cable, plug etc by swapping with an older SSD and the 7010 identifying via disk manager. Re installed and no issue. The SSD is a crucial so brand wise pretty decent. Anyways all working now and I really appreciate your videos so thank you :)
