When Roma vs Juventus was the biggest game in Serie A, the game was often presented as a clash of 2 best players in the league (if not in the world) - Michel Platini for Juventus and Paulo Roberto Falcão for Roma.
It's quite fitting that both players had royal nicknames - a simple "Le Roi" ("The King") for Platini and the 8th King of Rome (the next one in succession after 7 ancient Roman kings) for Paulo Roberto Falcão.

Paulo Falcao was one of the most skilled players of the 1980s. However in this match. He wasn't at his best.

Harms,in your opinion,who is better Platini or Zico considering both prime level and longevity?

It's an extremely difficult question, really. If pushed, I'd probably go with Platini for that 84' Euros performance, but both are, in my opinion, the best of the rest for that number 10 spot behind Maradona. Zico usually played slightly higher, he was a better dribbler (probably the only skill Platini lacked at a very top level) and scored a bit more (although the league also played a part), but Platini controlled the game from deeper areas on another level. I once saw a very unique description of his playing style that I find very fitting - Andrea Pirlo with Inzaghi's goals.

I was around back in the 1980s. So i saw both at their very peak. Who's the better? Platini! Reason: Dominated the best ever assembled super league filled with the best players & defenders from around the world. He did a 3peat title win A 3peat ballon d'Or win ( only matched by Messi ) Twice scudetto title winners European Cup winner Intercontinental winner Zico did have a Copa Libertadores & a intercontinental win His 1981 intercontinental demolition of Liverpool. His career peak big tournament display. But played the majority of his football in Brazil So Platini is stonger club wise Intl team wise: Platini: played the greatest one man Euro tournament campaign. Scoring NINE goals! 🤯 to win Euro '84 Drove France to semi final 1982 World Cup Zico: Very uneven with Brazil. 1978 World Cup he was deemed a failure. Copa America 1979. He got injured in the crucial semi against Uruguay Played great at the 1982 World Cup. But not at the peak level's he showed with Flamengo. 1986 world cup he wasn't fully fit & missed a crucial penalty. Again: Platini the stronger Intl player.

@@brankojovic2000 Yes indeed! - Superior ball passer - More prolific goalscorer - Much more powerful in scudetto with Juve than Zidane was with Juve - Superior free kick technician The only thing Zidane had over Platini, is ball retentions, in tight area's Zidane looks more " fancy " because of his silky - smooth touch & ball juggles. But on a deeper, depth analysis, past the aesthetic eye seductions... Platini the more complete player.
