Toxic work culture in India has been a big problem for corporate employees in India for a long time. Toxic corporate culture India has destroyed many people’s mental and physical health. The corporate world reality is that corporate life stress often makes the toxic corporate culture much more harmful. This often pushes people to take an extreme step which could have been easily avoided, had these toxic corporate companies prioritized better work culture. A toxic corporate environment is the reason why many good employee feel unable to perform their job correctly and also face other issues related to mental and physical health.
You may often find a toxic work culture recording from various Indian corporates. Recently we have seen, people looking up toxic work culture HDFC or toxic work culture Byju’s since these two companies gained notoriety for having a very toxic work culture. You may face corporate work stress in a stressful corporate job in many Indian corporations. Byju's toxic work culture gained notoriety because of how many of Byju’s employees were badly treated by their toxic bosses in the workplace. How to deal with a toxic boss? The answer to this question depends on where you are in your career and what options are open to you.
This corporate world reality is often less talked about because the stakes are high for the employees if they become the source from whom this toxic work culture is exposed. You may find many instances of folks talking about toxic work culture but that is only after they have resigned from their jobs. I have myself had people close to me cry because of toxic work culture and corporate job stress. A stressful corporate job can make life every difficult for any employee out there.
Consider the toxic work culture at Byju’s and toxic work culture HDFC, we would come to a conclusion that this toxic corporate environment needs to go and managers or other higher level executives should be held accountable for their misbehavior. Toxic workplace behaviors tend to hamper employee productivity while also harming their mental or physical health. This corporate world reality has to be exposed and brought in front of the masses because many times it goes unnoticed.

MNC companies treat their employees like slaves, people outside get excited by big companies and city lucrative buildings. It is better to have a small business with peace in a small town.

Agree with the 2nd part, but a small correction on the first part, employees accept to be wage slaves of MNCs, don’t expect them to treat you like small business owners

There is no alternative accept your boss just to run your family. There is no self respect but this money helps to get respect and bread for family... I left my job and now I am unemployed for 1year. Have ended my saving...do not know what will come in near future... Now I am wasting my time just to search the job.😢

This is life of an average kid in India. Start Preparing for JEE/Pre Engineering Test from 10th grade Summer Vacation and then Survive in Engineering College for 4 years worrying about Campus Placement daily and then try to survive in a Job (if you get one) then worry about paying Rent :-) which can be increased anytime without regard to Inflation and the stress keeps on increasing. The worst part your Government Employee Father who never left your ancestral city will say this is part of life and hang up the phone :-) This is the story of 80% of my batchmates who finished engineering in year 2000. I can safely say all this after experiencing this for 24 years. Anybody who has seen 20+ years of Career can vouch for this or is an outlier in very large population of IT Guys in Bangalore and Hyderabad. Last if you are an IT employee for 20 years now you are worried about your kids going through the same grind 😬

One thing I would suggest, all of us should file a petition in Supreme court of India to take strict action against companies who treat people like a slave, makes them over work more than 9 hours it's high time.....

Never Share your emotions with people you work or else you will be in big trouble. Also Control your aspirations !!! The bigger the mortgage the bigger your slavery. Also be careful , Not Marrying and being alone can keep you away from some of the compromises you have to make. The narrative of a happy marriage and two kids have made several people slaves. So think about these commitments , or don't get married until you have 2-3 years of expenses saved for your rent, food , utilities etc. Then you will have flexibility to find a better job without being worried about job loss.

In usa I live. And here literally many non asian PPL are happy cuz they are single 😂. Meanwhile all Asians especially south asians are always in some pressure(except me cuz I'm still single). Cuz they all are married. And always have the pressure of their family. Nowdays Marriage means pressure cuz both partners don't contribute or have ego.

As an ex employee in HDFC group company, I want to give feedback to everyone not to work in any of its companies - HDFC bank, HDFC Ergo, HDFC life insurance. They have no value for their employees, and you have to work for long hours including on weekends when it is supposed to be a holiday. You appraisals and increments are miniscule compared to the industry standards.

I worked with IDFC first bank in sales department. I will tell you the kind of pressure my boss has put. 1. Using bad words 2. Shouting infront of other team mates 3. He literally messages me at 10:30 pm regarding work 4. Even on holidays he never leaves me. On Sunday i went fir shower and he called me. After that i have seen his missed call and called back. He spoke to me so rudley and asked how long will you stay in bathroom. 5. During covid i left office at 11:30 pm and i travelled alone when roads are desserted 6. No safety for women over there.

Was in IT and operations department. And one should not talk back to those red I carder bosses, they always threaten you that we will replace u and even for taking leaves and always put a escalation mails.

Insightful vedios ! Random thought : WHY GOI is not interfering and creating stricter policies in support of mental health, we have laws for physical damage done to a person. The need of the hour is to have similar rules for mental damages as well.

One thing I see that this toxicity starts with one toxicity person. When good people also start to churns around that toxic person, then really it because suffocating environment for everybody. Also, sometimes this toxicity also emerges from cultural diversity. Lastly, your views are right.

I have a same kind of (belonging to the same state as in the video) (not being racist or enthinist just explaining my situation) boss who always supported subordinates belonging to the particular state who talked in such a rude manner to other people I was shocked almost every day and continuously feel the fear and hate from him. Sadly I can do nothing. Applies pressure, pressure and pressure, regardless and keeps the environment toxic with asking for continuous deadlines. Don't know if this builtin Indian culture with socipathic bosses and childhood trauma in the name of Indian culture or what?

I worked for the same Indian IT major that you mentioned, here in the US. The toxicity was unbearable, including backstabbing, religious bias, and favoritism; it was the case that "mediocrity breeds mediocrity, they hire people who align with them rather than hiring someone who is fit for the job. Never again!

From February No leaves, even on sundays they're asking us to work. Daily reporting calls in the early hours, 7 am.. manager sending messages by 5.30 am. 10pm reporting..asking for targets...a well known indian corporate brand, I am working.

No labour laws in this nation. Also post covid and wfh now companies know that they can force employee in office then force same employees to take office laptop at home to work. We have to amrk timesheet of 8 hours but we are given work of 12 hours 😒

I was in a similar situation a couple of years back. That was my first fulltime job. My condition was really one of the worst one can imagine. I'm not being judgmental to others' issues but for over a year I used to have suicidal thoughts. Fear of being jobless, suicidal temptations, depression, humiliation, lost dignity and on top of that my own fear turned into cowardness. Rather than fighting back, I submitted myself to corporate evils. I remember I used to hurt myself physically in my PG's bathroom/washroom every day at the time of taking shower. I got some minor cuts, some unseen bruises that I used to hide wearing full sleeves, and what not. Everytime when I was on the terrace of my office building I used to get this urge to jump but I again I was coward to do that again. I was really really submerged into the ocean of depression deep down. You can say I was literally buried under a pile of lost hopes and failed justice. I still remember telling exactly to my CEO that I didn't really do anything wrong but for that moron his business operations and funding mattered the most. Not his fault though. I knew I couldn't fight against a gang. I might put up the courage to deal with one or two but it's not really a feasible descision to fight against a gang of evils hungry for promotion, recognition and hike. I was literally done with my life for a moment. TBH, it still haunts me till date. I try always not to think about it. I did suffer a huge setback in my career. I am someone who gives up pretty quickly and I accept it as my major flaw but I am also someone who tries to get back up another day. Maybe I will give up a 100 times but I will try to wake up every other morning to try something different just because the previous plan/choice didn't work out(primarily because of my flaw of being an intimidated introvert and a coward). But I do change my course of track, find something different but this corporate bullying and toxicity are a reality that neither I nor perhaps anyone can escape. You need to be smart, bootlicking, set your ego aside, listen and obey to some illiterate just because he/she is sitting on top of you. Trust me, I have seen people with experience and top tier degrees behave like illiterates and dumbs. I'm still struggling but alive, all thanks to my cowardness which didn't let me kill myself. I guess, cowardness isn't that bad of a trait, right? However, if in case, I ever build something of my own I would prioritize hardwork, sincerity, honesty, and selflessness as my core principles. I will also ensure a healthy work environment for freshers with realistic work targets. But that's a story of future to see. Right now I would urge everyone that, don't you ever switch just because the salary is great. If your current employer offers you a decent work environment, do prioritize it over money. Your mental peace should be your first priority, second should be your health, then your career/family whichever you would like to. Be humble, ego will make you vulnerable to attacks and eventually, you will lose. Your merit cannot keep you going. Either learn the dirty game or become obedient, and resilient & tolerant to BS in office. Never ever work under a female boss. Never ever work under a male boss with lesser experience. Don't let anyone's words affect you. Even if it's profanity coming to you, handle it with grace and take it like a champ. Those who cannot adapt please don't enter corporates. Make something of ur own. Your own grocery shop would give you much more peace than a high paying corporate job. And it's a fact. Keep one thing in mind, especially men. Nobody is going to be urs. Your parents, relatives, GFs, wives, and even kids will turn their back to you. Your house is an equally toxic place if not more. It's just the toxicity is buried under the financial security that you bring to them. Your employer doesn't care about your health or even if you are alive. For them you're just another tool to get their work done. Another thing to understand that you're replaceable. Prioritise yourself, your well being and happiness over anyone else. Those who seek ur shelter will follow along with you. Those who don't, you simply don't need them. If that means losing your mother, kids or wife, let them go. Trust me, it's a harsh truth. Earn money, have s*x but don't pay for it directly or indirectly. S** will keep your healthy and happy. Most importantly you will gain experience. Remember the fact that there's no such thing as an experienced woman. A man with experience lasts longer and performs better in bed. A woman with experience comes with BS and promiscuity. Of course, what I am saying doesn't sound fair but you have to prioritise ur well being. You're not hurting or controlling anyone. Always go for obedient women rather than attractive ones. Learn the art to identify gold diggers and wh***s. They will teach you her virginity doesn't matter. But trust me, if it is related to your peace of mind then it does. As a man you're born to provide and you can only do that when you are at peace. Never hurt your wife or cheat on her. Never let go of ur authority as the man of the house. Your last opinion should always be considered as the final verdict of the family and ensure that it's being followed but don't become a psycho control freak. And remember life will knock you down but you can choose whether or not to stand back up. So when you're down make sure to isolate urself. Women need helping hands to rise up. Men don't. As a man you're capable enough to stand back on ur feet unless you're disabled. Don't you ever forget that you come first then everything and everyone else.

From my 9 years of experience. You need to set specific goals and realistic targets as a range like for example let's say a program or code in days 5 to 7. So for a week 25 to 35. Follow the Hiesenhover matrix and write an effective problem statement. Their chances are they won't listen. If that's the case smile and look elsewhere.

Work pressure never ends corporates are here to suck blood in non humane work. Keep switching or if ur lucky u will get good team. Start saving for retirement. Retire at 40-45 and start a new career you alwayz wanted. Retirement is a chance of career freedom

​@@karansenaworst part is our work is not that critical, our founders or head of departments are doing much bigger blunders, there are companies going bankrupt not because of employee but because of poor decisions of directors or vice president etc. If they make mistakes they say it was good learning experience when employee makes mistake then all hell breaks loose 😅

Employee wellbeing is contradictory factor for corporate growth strategy, so corporate needs to be governed by elected government But no one opens up in public due to fear. This is a clear sign of shift in power from old landlords to new type of landlords protected by constitution. In western countries When a handful of PPL can fight big corporations justice, big corporations can be questioned by elected bodies, in European countries there can be labour union legally. What is stopping Indians from having their rights, in what way Indians are inferior. This is due to a corrupted society legally supported by loopholes in constitution, exemption of labour laws for IT industries in Karnataka clearly states denial of the fundamental rights Article 14-18, 23-24 of constitution,still no one cares. When the corporate is imposed labour laws based on fundamental rights corporates threaten the government itself . This is a trap that needs a round of reformation before it sparks out as civil war. White collars are no more quite, as they realised they are used as blue collars badging them white collar, white collar blue collor difference is against fundamental rights. When the rich contractors community, rich business community etc can have an effective union why can't IT have one and be strong enough. This is clear collapse of fundamental rights

I have just quit from senior level seat at Nykaa due to only and only toxic work culture there. I am a victim with no job in hand, still, I am true to myself. I am also surprised, there is no regulator who can address or help in these issue to an employee.

AI will improve creativity, IQ and strategic work so low value tasks are low this also means AI will not remove jobs. It will make you do your existing job in a better way. I personally think the Modi should include and introduce laws By ways of voicing out loud and public rally in the Indian culture urgently required against shouting at employees and any mental abuse also reducing long working hours. This requires urgent change in India. Right now, it is a rat race in India due to poor large corporate cultures due to inflation and consumerism. How about HR and staff working on Ally schemes in India, to voice out these tortures at work, particularly for women ally schemes at work is needed. Also why are there no women at top MNCs in India surely they don’t shout at men or is it only men shouting around???

No value of a labour can be replaced anytime since day1, salaries increase the technologies will change and you will be on your knees in your mid age. Today learn AI, DS and tomorrow in mid age fight for job with these bulky packages and fake dreams driven by private sector.
