In Indian corporate culture, we often notice the signs of corporate job burnout but choose to ignore them. Job burnout signs or burnout symptoms are always around us such as feeling very tired or unmotivated to go to work among others. But the corporate job reality in India is as such that we ignore work burnout let alone talk about work burnout solutions. So, what to do if you face job burnout but can’t quit? Before we answer this question, we need to focus on the fact that work burnout symptoms are often downplayed in the corporate world.
A day after Mr. Narayan Murthy said that Indian youngsters should work 70 hours a day, a report was published citing the fact that in Indian corporate culture, Indian employees face job burnout and depression the most. Job burnout and depression are closely linked because job burnout does lead to feeling low, and over time it can take a toll on an employee’s mental as well as physical health. Indian corporate work culture prioritizes work over employee well being and employee mental health.
Corporate job burnout has made a lot of people quit their jobs or even change industries. Work burnout recovery has been a tricky matter because most employees don’t even recognize the corporate job burnout. But those who do look for how to avoid job burnout. Yet, there are a only a few things we can do as employees to avoid job burnout or workplace burnout. These include taking care of our health and trying to draw professional boundaries if your organization has a toxic work culture. You should make it a priority to take care of your physical and mental health against the toxic work culture of your company.
Overwork is real and many Indian IT employees are especially overworked. Being overworked and underpaid can be one of the top reasons for workplace burnout. You need to look out for the signs you are burnt out. Job burnout and depression can also be linked to the toxic work culture in Indian corporates. You should try to learn more about work burnout recovery and take some time off daily to do things that aid your mental and physical health. Corporate burnout recovery can take time but it is a worthy goal to pursue. Hope this video helps you figure out how to overcome burnout in life. Hope you find this video valuable, see you in the next one.

Talk about being born with a golden spoon🥄 There is also no tax if you gift stocks to your family/relative. Whereas salaried individuals pay huge taxes for everything.

Only middle class people work in corporate world. Middle class is most neglected section in our country. Either in corporate world or in govt agenda. There are laws for rich and poor but not for middle class who works in corporate and exploited by these institutions.

We employees need to take care of ourselves. No corporate manager will miss us, if we burnout they bring in someone else to do our work and treat us as if we are really useless. They will forget what we did and what we sacrificed for the company. They only want profit and will make us work double shift to pay us for single shift and say "you need to work better to prove yourself"

Unfortunately, we Indians are responsible for such working conditions. The government barely has any role apart from collecting taxes. It's a toxic culture of greed, manipulation and vengeance. Foreign companies have different rules in their western operations compared to India. Basically, british raj is still there and we Indians love to exploit, and get exploited. There are no ethics or standards at all. Government really needs to intervine as corporate practices are extremely exploitative.

Also 70 hours will increase productivity of company for sure, though employee morale and mental state will decrease- inversely proportional !!

The Murtys are great actors, putting on a mask of simplicity while amassing wealth. He wants youngsters to work 70 hrs a week, ie 85 90 hrs incl travel time so that he can gift 240 crores to his newborn grandson. She expects us to believe the story that she wrote" 10 Downing Street" as her London address while travelling, as if immigration officials wouldn't have been aware of her travel plans( at least for security purposed). Now, she has quietly wrangled MP seat, that too unelected.

Problem is not the job but the environment they are providing for their employees. They want working hours long and after that they want their employees to do overwork for free or for bare minimum cost, and in some places your seniors even verbally abuse you. A healthy environment is what we should be looking for in our offices/ job so everyone benefits from it.

People like Narayan Murthy suffer from a common Malady: To provide for next seven generation.Just like donating 240 Cr worth Infosys shares to his grandson. Such people do not trust the ability of their coming generations! While asking common man to do more than what is expected from him so that corporates go on amassing huge wealth. What a hypocrisy!

his wife gave up working to raise kids that time so he could spend more hours working. So u would now say 50% of the workforce which is women should do that? How would it help country grow? It would be detrimental to growth in fact! Or are you expecting both the parents to work 70 hours? In which case society would scream how society is crumbling! And what about poor kids of those people? They growing without parents in life - will it help country in longer run? How about their relationship's health with each other? How would they provide care and support for ailing parents? How would they support their community? What about their health and spiritual growth? I guess what NrN doesn't understand is we work a lot more in a week than those 70 hours. I spend time on office, exercise, cooking for my family and feeding my kids, I take their studies, play with them when they need, i spent time with God, I do house hold chores. Even when I sleep, my body cells do the repairing work. So if Nrn wants to spend 140 hours a week in office. He can. He can't and should not dictate what others should do. Mind his own business.

I don't understand who is forcing anyone to work hard. Its their personal choice. Every one enjoys the boom of IT in India but blames the people who did that. Every one want to become software engineers with decent enough salaries but spits venom on the same. You always have an option of sitting idle, enjoy and live happily as you say WHO suggests. And otherside don't blame the politicians giving freebies and making people lazy. Social nettwok is full of hypocrites. By the way he didn't earn the money by sitting idle as you guys wanted. He worked hard created jobs for you, made money and gifting his child. He is suggesting the same for you, instead of taking suggestion blaming the person.

I wouldn't care if Mr Murthy gave a 1000 crores to his grandson IF he also had put him up for a challenge to earn 1 crore on his own before his 25th birthday or something, and only THEN the grandchild would inherit his property. I only care because you have to practice what you preach, and asking the country to work for 70 hrs while he makes his own grandson to never ever care for the value of money from the day he starts learning his alphabet is a joke, and I feel he's become mad with money and power unfortunately like many others before his time!

You talk like a typical communist. Let the workers obey the rules governing IT industry. Rules are not different for each I T company. They have to undergo perfect competition to survive. Such is the situation giving a call for utmost dedication for their employees by the Entrepreneurs need not be misconstrued. On the contrary one cannot expect working conditions provided in a Nationalised institutions in private sectors too. Moreover those who are sincere and and honest would be rewarded with hike in emoluments in IT sector. You please weigh in both plus and minus facts before giving a judgement. One final thing any employee unable to cope up with working conditions in IT sector has got an option to opt out and start a start up company or join better Institution. Do you expect same ritual in Govt or National sector?

In US company there is so much of satisfaction , appreciation, recognition, rewards when u put efforts. Also don't even get me started on salary!😅 I believe I worked 4 times more and hardly got rewards while in NrN's organization. Of course I got salary, but it's not at par with induatry. Also they don't know how to appreciate a good work, how to keep workforce motivated. How to develop and promote a good work culture where everyone wants to contribute.
