Pawn Stars Season 18 Pawn Stars is an American reality television series, shown on History, and produced by Leftfield Pictures. Pawn Stars is filmed in Las Vegas, Nevada, where it chronicles the daily activities at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, a 24-hour family business opened in 1989 and originally operated by patriarch Richard "Old Man" Harrison, his son Rick Harrison, Rick's son Corey "Big Hoss" Harrison, and Corey's childhood friend, Austin "Chumlee" Russell. Pawn Stars, which became the network's highest rated show, debuted on July 26, 2009. Pawn Stars opens the doors to the only family-run pawnshop in Las Vegas, where three generations of the Harrison family use their sharp-eyed skills to assess what's real and what's fake. Objects the colourful customers bring in range from the obscure to the truly historic, and it's up to the guys at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop - with help at times from their network of experts - to reveal the sometimes surprising answer to `What's this worth?'. First episode date: July 19, 2009 Networks: History, A+E Networks Pawn Stars Season 18

It is a scripted tv show with people like her who are paid actors. Have you never been to Vegas to watch this be filmed? None of it is real. The real store ended years ago from a lawsuit.

@@cigancrni2630 The show is owned by the history channel and they borrow items from local museums to use for the show. They hire paid actors or extras what would be in a movie, to act out a scene where their grandfather owned this 1800’s clock etc. the real store in Las Vegas is only used and open for filming purposes. It is not an actual store anymore and all the people inside the store during filming, are paid extras that don’t have lines. It’s an entertainment production. The show used to be real around season 1-2. Then, one customer was filmed on accident and she wasn’t in to having her rights abused like that so she sued the family pawn shop, they settled then she tried to sue History channel for abusing her privacy. Look it up for yourself. Ever since then, the store stopped filming real people. You can check prior episodes as well where the same actors, came in different episodes in different seasons again and again. The local experts they call in, are on filming schedules as well.

Good for her doing more research. Keep in mind, if this was Admiral Yamamoto's, it would probably go for even more than 20k in an auction. People go nuts over WW2 history, especially something tied to one of the biggest figureheads of the Japanese in WW2.

This is not a Yamamoto presented tanto. Admiral Yamamoto wanted a fund to be set up to present stipend's to members of his fleet who had distinguished themselves in battle. But the money was not available for his fund. So instead, he was able to commission swordsmiths to forge a group of tanto's on behalf of the Imperial Household to be presented in lieu of the stipends. He had 20 tanto's made, but they were not made from the Mikasa. Admiral Yamamoto also inscribed his name as part of the presentation on the tanto's he gave away. Such as one he gave to a Vice Admiral 'To Ugaki Matome Vice-Admiral of the Imperial Navy, from Yamamoto Isoroku.' So as his name isn't on it, this is not one he gave away.

you know how likely you would be able to trace who that Japanese Tanto belonged to that is next to imposable. you might be able to find who owned it before you and maybe who owned it before them but who originally owned the Tanto in the 1900s I think 95% chance you will never know. That Tanto could have changed hands 3 times before this young lady ended up with it. Geting 6,500 is probably an ok deal. I would have asked 7k rick might have gave it.

We have records of rewards going back to the Civil War and before. Japanese are meticulous record keepers, but the records probably burnt when we fire bombed Tokyo. In any case, I think she'll come up empty handed unless she contacts the right expert in Japan.

Don't try to take advantage of a young lady that could do a little research and possibly double the value.
