Established in the 18th century, Paxton & Whitfield is London's oldest cheesemonger. But it's not just Londoners that enjoy the shop's extensive range of more than 150 cheeses. Indeed, the shop has a very special customer...

For the future, music was very loud. Although the narrator sounds like an Irishman which I'd be happy to see more of

way too loud music, and the goofball at the end drooling over the cheese should have been replaced by a on screen personality that know what to do in front of the camera.

I treat myself to a nice little bit of cheese about once a month when I can afford it. It must be nice to be the queen and have the whole country chip in to buy you the best of everything in the world and have it delivered to your palatial homes at the drop of a hat.

If Britains love cheese. Why do supermarkets only sell cheddar and massively overpriced imports?

...and Stilton, Gloucester, Lancashire, Red Leicester, Cheshire, Derby, Wensleysdale, Goat's Cheese , Shropshire Blue, Caerphilly... You should go to a bigger supermarket.

I was of course dramatising. But in general, that is how buying cheese in the UK feels to me as a German. Most of the cheeses you mention are some variant of the Cheddar style. Boring as batshit. A whole Isle of cheese filled with dozens of permutations of Cheddar style cheeses (young, aged, mature, yellow orange, sickly white, crumbly or wet). And they all taste pretty much the same. A few nice ones like Stiltons doesn't make this an exciting selection. And no worries, the Supermarkets I went to were plenty big. And I like cheese and I have an open mind about food. And still when I went shopping for nice cheese I often ended up buying the insanely expensive French or Swiss imports. Yea, there is nice cheese in the UK. But nobody seems to care. Or it takes more than five years to learn to love your style of cheese.

Maybe your palate isn't refined enough to tell the difference? Cheddar is only "boring" because it's very popular around the world. It's popular because it tastes great. If you want more local cheeses, try specialty shops, like this one. The reason why you won't see these cheeses is because of logistics - it's not easy to regularly supply single producer, early-expiry date cheeses to every supermarket in the country. By the way, the German cheeses I've tried I wasn't a big fan of - too smokey and rubbery. So I suppose tastes vary from country to country.
