Heads is where it's at. Try not to get shot. --- Overkill: Come on, don't be scared of the vast array of different special cops. They're still squishy if you learned to aim. Plus, you get a rather meaty xp bonus at the end! Use this difficulty to get a feel of how the game should be played. Stay here for a few dozen levels and try to hold for as long as you can. This is solid practice for what is yet to come. --- Mayhem: Alright, let's kick it up a notch. I know you want that money and xp bonus it shows. Nothing much different from Overkill, but the cops can now hurt you. Consider investing in some health skills/perks and don't rush in the face of a Skulldozer, he'll rek u. Learn to survive with as little ammo as possible. Maintain this difficulty until you're able to clear loud heists with no downs and perfect your skill trees. Try to make this your main difficulty. --- Death Wish: Okay, now you're stepping into the big boys' club. Same enemies, but a single headshot with most guns won't cut it anymore. Ammo is going to be scarce, use it wisely. Cops do some serious damage - stay out for too long and the standard Elite is gonna chop off 75% of your health in a matter of seconds. Take cover and use every chance to gather ammo. Though there's a pretty "whoah-ish" xp bonus waiting for you at the end! This difficulty is for the determined. Don't be a hero and think about what you're doing. The usual "eh, nothing's happening here, let's go outside and shoot someone" won't work. You'll die before your mag is empty. --- One Down: If you're not at least infamy 1 level 100 with at least 100 hours of play, don't even think about it. This shit is real. So real you're gonna have your face turned into swiss cheese the moment you peek out of cover. Cops here are bad. They NEVER miss and a single bullet of theirs will knock your armor off and cut 50% of your health. 2nd bullet... you're dead. NEVER exchange fire. If you know you have the firepower to kill the guy, do so. Never shoot under their necks - cops are LITERALLY bulletproof there. Invest heavily in ammo skills as you're never going to have much of it. Never move out in the open - it's a no mans land. Get up from crouch - you're dead. Reload - you're dead. Two guys aiming at you - you're dead. Taser - you're dead. Bulldozer - you're dead. One down - you're dead. Dead. Dead. Dead aaaand... dead. If you manage to survive, you don't need internet tutorials anymore.

It takes two shots from the Nagant to kill a bronco cop on One Down, and Dozers can take RPGs to the face and not die. I do not think I am going to be able to get the One Down Difficulty Mask. I'm also very disappointed that the One Down Bulldozers don't have Miniguns for weapons.

If Mayhem is between OVK and DW, I can finally play a bit harder without being destroyed by cops after 10min. Nice thing that OVK made.

Lmao I went into a One Down Big Bank without reading anything about the new update. All the cops did was stay OUTSIDE the vault area and stay in the lobby area. So all we had to do was crouch our way through the first part. So I ended up finishing my first ever One Down without knowing jack shit about it. Oh yeah, and dominator felt broken because one of our teammates dominated cops like crazy. within the first 5 min of assault starting we were able to take 6 hostages.

In One Down difficulty they essentially gave the cops Anime powers and Anime bullet resistance while they gave the heisters irl standards of defense.

Welcome back to 5-usable-meta-build difficulty, where everyone uses 3 whole weapons and uses slightly tweaked variants of the same build, all while mocking anyone who doesn't want to do what they're doing. I missed you.

Due to the massive health increases, joker skills are actually really amazing now. Even converted weak cops just don't die.

I wish they kept up the naming theme with One Down. Why not call it "Condemned" or "Walking Dead" or something on those lines?

I've noticed on Bank Heist on one down stealth that two guards will move around together and follow eachother and that sometimes a guard will just be walking around the bank outside without breaking any cameras. Also they seem to use the roof more often

So in a nutshell it is just an increase in enemy numbers and a decrease in a few player numbers. I guess giving the AI a brain was too much for them.

Sprinting dozers what's next? Dozers with Vulcan or cloaked dozers? Sheesh

Playing one down difficulty is like playing pokemon. You are the trainer and all pokemon are trying to kill you. What you need to do is train your own pokemon to against them.

yeah I get however how do I get the difficulty please tell me I made a contract but it doesn't allow me to play on it why do I need a DLC? I don't get it

guys I need some help I've been trying to play on mayhem but it seems like they have super increased health I'm not playing on one down or DW is it supposed to be like this or are they only supposed to have crazy health on one down someone please tell me haha I'm freaking out

My main pain with 1D is ammo efficiency is out the window. While with Rune we used two ammo bags before getting all the bodies scanned on Boiling Point, forcing us to leave early. The mode is hella fun and the new models are great, but ammo is more needed then ever

Having just finished firestarter with days 1 and 2 loud on one down i think the new difficulty is about right all though it could do with some tweaking. Cloakers headshot multiplier could do with being turned up slightly as in the current state if your charged at close range you have to have a very fast rof gun to drop them. Same goes for normal cops so ammo is slightly more manageable but you should still be losing ammo per shot unless you have the relevant skills. Oh and the new skins look sick as hell. And regular tans still spawn on Go Bank loud on the new difficulty i'm assuming this is a bug?

In One Down Stealth heists I used locomotive that can kill guards 1 shot and for Shadow raid (the guarsa are militarys) I use heavy crossbow because it's one headshot kill

I also noticed they fixed pathfinding for hostage rescue. Used to be that cops would seemingly not realize that Security Offices and the like existed. Now, cops actually try to rescue hostages in these rooms. Also, it seems like the cap for Dommed cops was raised from 6 to 8.

I did some comparing between stealth difficulties. Apperantly the ability to intimidate guards has been removed from lower difficulties in stealth aswel and not just for one down difficulty. So overkill's approach of making the game harder is removing game mechanics. And therefor one down stealth pretty much is death wish stealth with more value to loot, as long as you kill guards with melee weapons when they detect you it's exactly the same.

Crossbows are very useful in One Down stealth, since they now deal 1500 and 4000 damage for the light and heavy crossbow respectively

I am not a fan of the changes. I never complained about the game being too easy, but I could see the potential for raising the difficulty higher. This, however, is a joke to me. Simply adding more health to enemies is the exact opposite of what I wanted. It now takes an entire magazine to kill a taser with pretty much any weapon other than crossbows. I run out of ammo after killing 5 enemies. I would much prefer everybody to have much less health (both the team and enemies) but also give everybody a huge damage boost. That way it would also be more realistic and force you to play more tactically. Granted, I realise that I do not have to play these higher difficulties even though I would like to. I am more just sad to see the game taking yet another wrong turn.

Pretty sure you can still dominate in stealth, it's just that cops can't be dominated at 100% health.

For the love of god, I'm telling everyone GET CONVERTED COPS! They stand the biggest chance. I tried it and their the biggest things that kill in this difficulty. They survived for so long killing everything in their way. You max out Joker and every buff for it, they will take control of the heist. Keep them close at ALL times and make sure you move with them. Almost as if the games having a laugh at you saying "You love killing cops? Now you rely on them!" Go ahead and try it yourself, I try hurting them and they're even stronger then multiple bulldozers combined. The only way to get rid of them is explosives.

The first One Down I did was the Safe House Raid. I knew nothing about the update and just decided it would be fun. They seem almost easier than Death Wish (probably because I'm a lot more careful with this new difficulty) and the people who play One Down are almost exclusively XXV-100. 10/10 would torture myself again.
