Before it became 2020’s most anticipated video game, tabletop players entered Cyberpunk’s dark future in the 1988 role-playing game. Original Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith joins us to talk about adapting the game for a new medium, and updating it for the even bleaker tech dystopia we now live in.

I'm pretty sure Lawrence Fishburn based Morpheus on Mike Pondsmith.

Isn't it funny their last names have a werid vague connection to water/ponds. Burn the Fish you get from the Pond on a smithy. lol

Oh my my ...mr Mike you worked on Enter the Matrix....i´m no making this up , that was MY favorite game when i was 14 , ...no wonder that game had so many good vibes , it actually makes a lot of sense , but most of all that game was breaking some concept barriers and limitations , the characters , while fighting near a wall , a door , fighting multple enemmies was so well made and stylish .

California Pacific Computer Company that he said he worked with in the 80's... they're the ones who made the very first Ultima game. Also, lots of games are based on tabletop games. Warhammer 40K has like 30 games at this point, in virtually every genre. D&D games, quite a few as well.

@OMGitsAzreal Dawn of War was the best RTS ever made. Dawn of War 2... not quite as much. Dawn of War 3... not at all. Mechanicus is really good though for strategy.

Wow guys so humble. He literally predicted the landscape or forming landscape of his future dead on and acts like it was just coincidental. He’s obviously extremely intelligent.
