Welcome to Hohenfels aka the “high cliffs” of Bavaria Germany. This small city of 2K+ is home to USAG Hohenfels.
Full Blog: www.dtvdanielt...
In this video, I explored the area with the help of local blogger LeAnna Brown (www.wanderinge...) and her cute little family. I sat down with them at the Kuhstallcafe (www.kuhstallca..., a unique cow cafe near the Hohenfels Training Area.

*Side note: The Kuhstallcafe is legit, it’s a great place to hang out with family and enjoy homemade cakes! You can even milk cows on the farm! Make sure to make reservations, they’re open on Sundays & holidays (even during Corona).
During my exploration of Hohenfels, my local family told me to visit the following cities:
Hohenfels - 0:02 & 0:30 & 1:50
Schmidmühlen - 1:56
Parsberg - 2:06
Kallmünz - 2:32
Velburg - 2:52
Lupburg - 4:31
Burglengenfeld - 5:44

I was stationed in Hohenfels from Nov 1973 thru Jan 1977. I fell in love with the people, the food, scenery, and just every day life there. Me and my buddy played music at the Youth Center in Parsburg. We had so many friends there that it just felt like home.

Just happened to come across this video and took a look. I was stationed in Hohenfels in 1974. Lived on base but was fairly mobile in visiting the area from Nurenberg to Regansberg. Yes, it is a bit remote but is a very nice area.

I trained in this area for at least 6 months over 2 years. It was the most challenging training are for me. Beautiful area but tough to train in .Mud, rain and cold weather. But in the spring very pretty.

02:40 Yeah, fell in love with Germany, can't be bothered to learn the language tho. Colonial BS attitude right there. Just keep speaking your language in someone else's country. The indigenous people will just adapt if you give them some trinkets and baubles.
