I talk to P.D. Mangan, health & fitness coach, and anti-aging specialist. At 66 years old, which many people who see him don’t believe, he is leading the way in teaching people of all ages how to improve their overall health. In this episode, which is a departure from all my previous episodes with investors and CEOs, we discuss about the more critical subject of health, PD’s own health journey over the past few years and the biggest lessons he has to offer to anyone who wants to be healthy, and at any age.

There’s a lot of good advice in this video. I’m a vegetarian and will stay that way but I’ve realised that vegetarian and vegan diet are tricky to manage. One can meet their nutritional requirements quite easily by eating animal protein but in a crude way. Vegetarian diet has decreased in nutritional density over the years due to depletion of top soil and popularity of processed foods. Animal meats have not suffered the same fate. I will still avoid animal protein because of spiritual and ecological reasons but I do agree that protein from plant based sources is not up to the mark for muscle development. Muscles atrophy quickly on a vegan diet and so I prefer consuming whey protein to compensate. Also best plant based protein in my opinion are soaked peanuts followed by gram sprouts but both cannot replace whey. The advice on fruits is also spot on. The best fruits are not mangoes and mellons but berries, pear, guava etc. Dairy is tricky because good quality is expensive and inaccessible to most Indians.

Very interesting Vishal. Somehow I hv found that men and women gain some wisdom at and after age of 40. Mortality and health becomes priority. More so after COVID-19.

Really surprised to hear his comment on inadequacy of proteins for vegetarians and his comments against fruits and his support for animal dairy . These are against the recent research findings . Dr Colin Campwell / Dean Ornish / Dr N K Sharma etc has a lot of good KZfaq on this . This talk is worth deleting - sorry to say .

If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you, prevent inflation from eroding your savings, build generational wealth, and cultivate good habits and financial knowledge, you must be in the market.

@@arunachalamsarvan7730 Just people trolling. They give no explanation of why they think it's rubbish. Seems quite accurate to me. Even if you are listening to the plant propaganda, probably a good idea to pay attention to what PD is reading and studying. He's covering an area, especially his focus on Iron in aging, that is really important. His book Dumping Iron, along with what Malcolm Kendrick has written (as he mentions) is probably worth knowing about. A shame they didn't discuss much here about that. And it's interesting to me because I don't eat vegan or vegetarian anymore for the same reasons as PD. It tends to make people (certain people like him and me) unhealthy. Much better health on meat and eggs only. But I am interesting in finding anybody that can actually provide a working diet that would be vegan or vegetarian for something with a genetic makeup that clearly favors meat due to health issues. I haven't found it yet. So I think it's important to support all types of eating and ensure that nobody is stuck with no options.

I totally strongly disagree about his opinion on vegetarianism.Sorry but not scientific at all. Someone who is in medical field and fitness enthusiast doesn't mean he is right. Absolutely rubbish.

@@kunverjihirani276What does he get wrong? More protein isn't better? Seems to me he was only saying that if you are vegan can't get what you need (which is true- you must supplement) and if you are vegetarian, you need to be looking at 3-4 eggs minimum a day and also favor high protein foods. He made it clear that eating vegan and vegetarian really messed up his health, so he's giving his personal situation. Can't really disagree with that, unless you know what he ate and are able to discuss, and we don't have that information here. So, what makes vegetarianism work for you guys? I've never gotten it to work. Too many allergies to nuts and fruits. 100% meat and eggs is my only solution and no pain, no problems. So I think what he says is not at all rubbish. Also, you might want to check out his book on dumping iron. It's important to check your ferritin.
