First build video of our planned mini "show" layout, the idea was to see just how much we can cram onto a 4 foot by 3 foot base board but still make it look like a "proper" layout and not a train set.

Hi Peachy & Jimmy. I too use AnyRail and greatly enjoy using it. Your commentary on your track plan (wow - you're going to cram a lot into your space) came through loud and clear. Your change of mind will be only one of many as your plan develops! A round-house? Wow!. I bought a couple of Faller modules for my N gauge layout, so I look forward to your scratch build. I should say that I have bought TT:120 train sets, wagons, platforms, vehicles, accessories, etc. I have yet to get/make a baseboard.

Yes the “Camelot” roundhouse is still on the cards, but I’ve looked ahead at my work schedule and family commitments and I think scratchbuilding might be just too time consuming. I’m currently trying to workout if I can shoehorn a kit version into the space. Possibly next video?

@@PeachyTT120 Another TT:120er used an N gauge Metcalfe engine shed for his layout. There was sufficient width to take his loco but he had to slightly raise the shed height for it to fit. I've no idea whether this "trick" would work for a roundhouse.

If we are using dcc, would we still have the issues with the turn table?

I’m not sure, I believe if using traditional DCC they now do an add on module that works as per a return loop

Question i need to ask.. can you mix and match hornby tt120 and peco tt120 track systems ? I’m having serious problems getting fishplates that work to connect the 2… Thnx

@@T4Van-E-daycamp sort of yes… but in my experience it only really works if you solder them together. But then why would you want to mix the two? If it’s because you like Peco’s flexi-track then sell off the Hornby stuff on eBay and switch over to Peco.

@@T4Van-E-daycamp don’t get me wrong, people have done it, & seem to be happy. But you can’t get around the fact that they are two different rail types

When you weighted the bridge you had not put on the power bases, the bridge will be too high?

Good spot, but it was only by half a millimetre, a quick wipe over with some 80 grit sandpaper had it sorted ready for more plates & then the track, All’s well now, see episode 2

Love you're going to have a canal. I want one too. Do you intend having a barge because I can't find one.

Cheers David, I’m going to use Scalescenes kits for all the buildings and barges, (Dock edge/wall, canal lock & lock keepers cottage, canal barges) they’ve also recently brought out a steel barge scalescenes.com/product/t030e-steel-barges/ But also do more traditional canal barges along with the lock kit. You buy the 00 version, download then set the scale print option to 63% and you’ve got yourself a TT120 barge! 😀 There’s a Scalescenes Facebook group where you can get loads of advice and tips

@@PeachyTT120 Thanks for the info. I was really looking for a 3d printed barge, but I look forward to seeing how yours comes out so I can decided whether I want to go down the card route. I've never been a card kit fan to be honest.
