Hello and welcome back.
Today's hike starts in the High Peak area of the Peak District. I spend the day hiking with @Peteablokeoutdoors We start at Edale car park, heading towards Grinds Brooke, following the river along to Grindsbrooke clough (very Alpine) and a long, steep but great scramble up to the top (586m). Here we follow the trail towards Kinder Scout which proved to be very challenging navigation once we were on the moorlands. The path ceases to exist in places, peat bogs and ankle snapper holes were one to watch out for. We pass Kinder Gates to finally arrive at Kinder Downfall. Only to discover it was a trickle due to the heat wave we are experiencing. After a friendly chat with a sheep we head off towards Kinder Low Trig point 633m, down to Edale Rocks and then heading towards Jacobs Ladder. (still not sure if Id prefers to walk up it than down it again! Once we were down in the valley it was a fairly straightforward route following the Pennine Way to Lee House, Upper Booth and finally back to Edale.
